I miss Erick. Such an amazing person. I have no doubt he would have updated the book one more time to streamline things. One of the last memories I have is playing his unreleased game before his unfortunate death. He was an amazing gm.

Currently part of a TMNT And other Strangeness campaign that may or may not go into a epilogue sequel set during the Mutant Apocalypse seen in After the Bomb or any of the expansions to After the Bomb. It all depends on the GM.

I'm very happy you started talking about TMNT and especially After the Bomb since i got the second edition of After the Bomb today out of coincidence and since english is not my main language, i also love to google what i'm in for so i don't have to read everything but can browse for the infos i need on special stuff only. Doing that brought me, a collector of strange/obscure/rare or old roleplay systems, right to your channel. And i absolutly love to watch your (well made) content. So far i had a look at the TMNT main video and the Mew-Tants one in addition to this video and i'm hyped to see another one about After the Bomb as well as more/other strange systems as well.

As someone who was playing a lot of Palladium game at the time. The fact that Mutants in Orbit was for multiple settings didn’t really matter. In my experience most groups were just playing Rifts at the point and using TMNT, After the Bomb, Ninjas and Superspies, Heroes Unlimited and even the Robotech/Macross 2 books as supplements for Rifts to increase you character creation choices to an insane and unbalanced level. It was a weird time

I love playing After the Bomb and Heroes Unlimited, but I think the only reason I enjoy them is because we ignore massive chunks of the rules and houserule a lot more of them. They're a great framework for a game, but they're not good games in and of themselves. They're also horribly unbalanced, which is actually the best part of them. The vast power differences between characters is just magic when you get the right players together.
@zigmenthotep4 жыл бұрын
That's probably the best way to do it. Palladium games seem like a lot of good ideas with poor execution.
@deathstinger132 ай бұрын
wait, were those books listed at just 8-12 bucks at 12:38? compared to what a lot of TTRPG supplements these days seem to cost, that seems downright a steal. also, was this one not paying attention enough, or were there no mecha/robot rules despite prominantly featuring the same one on the cover a lot
@retropuffer29863 жыл бұрын
They just released a new hardcover with 72 bonus pages. I like how for two decades the book remained the same then after you do a comprehensive overview they add 72 pages. 😁
@zigmenthotep3 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, boost the sales of a 20-year-old incredibly broken poorly edited mess of a game by adding the 35 -year-old supplement it's based on, and some adventures originally bundled with a gamemaster screen and tied to another supplement, which is not included. That's so much better than like, a revised version of the game.

Good lord, no wonder rpgs took 30 years to actuality catch on. All of those sourcebooks and yet you still had to buy the 20 year old core rulebook to get a full ruleset.
@zigmenthotep4 жыл бұрын
Well technically if you want a FULL ruleset you need either TMNT or After the Bomb (2001), the matching version of Heroes Unlimited, and either The Palladium Role-Playing Game or Rifts.
