I got the 13/14/16 combination along with remo silent stroke. I can practice hours a day, make myself tired and exhausted, and work on tedious drills repeatedly without pissing off my neighbors or killing my ears. People say that silent strokes condition you to expect more rebound from a drumhead; I beg to differ that it demonstrates an undampened bounce, which lets you practice moeller strokes of much much longer lengths (6, 8, 12 taps per-stroke). I love this stuff!

This is nice! Practice isn't all about the sound, it's about the feel, the movements, the repetition. Might have to pick me up a set!

I heard them at Salt city drums the other day and they blew me away how good they sounded. The feel with playing them was awesome as well.. At least it was for me. I wanted some as soon as I heard them....

I already have the silent mesh heads that came with my Pearl Rhythm Traveler drum set. These seem like a good match. My Church has Zildjian A cymbals, so this is ideal for practice. It's cheaper than buying an electric drum kit. And hopefully it's more affordable than the Gen 16 cymbal packs.

The only thing I see that they don't have available in this series and would be great to have, is at least a 20" Ride.

Siiiiiccckkkk. Now I can practice a real drum kit without getting a noise complaint. The only qualm I have is the silent stroke heads give waaayyyy more rebound than your standard head, which is bad when you transition back over.
@midinerd7 жыл бұрын
Is this from personal experience? I put silent stroke heads on a few weeks ago and practice probably an hour a day. The snare rebound is crazy - I can count out 12 bounces+ The bassdrum being this quiet is nuts. I also bought the L80 cymbals and love them with this setup. fuckkk why didn't I have this 15 years ago

I heard the Gen 16 cimbals. These still have a pretty good sound. I wonder if these new L80 can compete with them. Otherwise you'd better buy the Gen 16 cymbals without the pickups.

My guess is they wanted to come up with an alternative to electronic cymbals to offer something more realistic. Fine for quiet practice without having to adjust your playing intensity. Truth is if you mic these the sound is completely different than the Customs, but again, fine for a specific purpose.

I'm guessing $400 at minimum for this setup. Why not just tape some old socks to the bottom of each cymbal for a few cents worth of duct tape?
@kolobcanyon89208 жыл бұрын
You could probably use these for recording. That's why I like them. Play a swing pattern on the hi-hat and it sounds crisp and you'd never get that using socks and tape
