Are the silentstroke heads a good match with the db one cymbals volume wise? Never come across a review with those 2 put together.

Yep I think they're a good match, pretty much any mesh drum head should match well with the quieter low volume cymbals like the dB One, L80 or Quiet Tone, etc.

If i put the drums on the living room can i have decent jam session with a piano? I mean using normal heads will definitely be too loud for the piano.. Or, will they be too quiet?

Yep I think lv cymbals and mesh heads would be a good combo for playing with a piano in a small space like a living room. If the snare feels too quiet with a mesh head you could try stretching a bandana or some cloth over a normal head to muffle it.

What kind of mic/recording system is needed for low volume solutions?

Which heads have the better Tom tone. Which heads sounds the most like toms (with regular heads).

The dB One heads seem to retain a little more of the resonance of the toms and I like their tone more between the two. It also helps to leave the resonant heads on the bottom of the toms as well.

So Remos are quieter. Which feels the most like regular acoustic drum heads?

Feel-wise they are both pretty similar to me, slightly bouncy depending on tension. The small patch in the middle of the dB One tom heads feels a little more like a traditional drum head if you center your strikes on it, but it's a small target.

Did the Evans cymbals sound louder than the Zildjans?

The Evans feel just slightly louder to me, but not by much.

I wonder how a 14" Evans dB ONE tom head would sound as a low-volume snare head? I think the dB one Snare head sounds like trash

I agree, I think using the snare wires on the snare drum sounds better. I suppose the idea is that the dB One snare head is more quiet than the snare wires. I think any low volume head with snare wires active sounds a little better on the snare.

youre supposed to remove the resonant head from the snare for the db one i believe. Very good video though amazing comparison!

I’m not sure. The resonant heads provide the tones for each one
