My left ear is still down several dbs at 3400 likely from my 18 inch Z Power Crash back in the 80s. Epic trash can lid.

The issue with these cymbals was never their sound quality, it was their tendency to crack. Being a heavier cymbal aimed at heavy hitting drummers their lack of flexibility meant they only lasted a couple of years max before cracks appeared in the bow.

this is the biggest problem with these cymbals.. thats why as a metal drummer i actually tend to go with medium weight cymbals, or even thin or medium thin because they are much more durable do to the flex..

Yes that happened to me too with a couple of old style Z crashes. Not sure if the different hammering would make any difference. Zildjian A Medium crashes are plenty loud enough, last well and sound better imo.

@@grundydan1 i agree, Z cymbals just sound chunky and unrounded..
@smashrhythm11 күн бұрын
Yep it due to the unnecessary star hammer marks

@@Evan_Thrashes medium and thin crashes, hats and chinas just sounds better in modern metal music I think. Actually if you in small band and you gigging in bars - loud cymbals is problem, not something good. But if you big enough to play on stadium - overheads should do it's work. So, I have no idea who need loud thick cymbals now.

2:21 some nice drumming there!

Absolutely! Really bringing out the best tone in those hats

the 18" China was good, the 20" China had some weird undertone hum resonance thingymajig to it...

Can you review the new drumcraft bell bronze pleaseeeeee
@DarthCiliatusАй бұрын
Not my sound (A's and K's for me) but they do their sound very well. That mega bell ride is awesome though. I'd grab one if I found a good deal and use it as a secondary ride. My primary ride is a 20in K Custom Dark Ride.

Can’t go wrong with the K dark ride

They sound like budget cymbals.
@BoswachtBlogАй бұрын
They sound kind of erratic, if you catch my drift. Not really a defined sound stage.
@the_minimalistic_adventureАй бұрын
They’re mainly meant for heavy rock music in a Live setting, where super nuanced, clean tones from A Custom’s, K’s, etc aren’t as necessary.
@theguy4361Ай бұрын
Appart from the megabell ride, none of those sound any good to me compared to A custom. They just sound like your average entry level cymbal, the meinl classic custom achieves almost the same sound for half the price in my opinion
