After a lot of thinking, I bought one and I don't regret anything. Although the light can be a bit annoying or you need a place that isn't very bright, I'm working on a new receiver which uses infrared lux so with that it shouldn't be a problem anymore. outside light or similar :D

Genuinely impressive. Not going to be the best in the world but for the price they have nice projection and articulation. They have more than enough distinction for a newer drummer or someone needing a midrange upgrade to ensure they have a decent instrument to keep them engaged without breaking the bank. Could even be used as a light touring setup for more intimate gigs. Good job Stagg.

Just bought a set of these, as I always wanted a complete matching of cymbals from one of the traditional artisan producers, previously beyond my financial reach. This review was so helpful, I've viewed it many times now, hearing a great set of beautiful quality cymbals, which look like terrific value for money. My wife gifted me these for my birthday, the package is here and I'm so very excited but have to wait until my birthday, in October! I might sneak a cheeky look , when she's distracted, but after she's opened the package to check the contents for me.

Do you think an Evans E Ring could tame the ring without completely choking the natural tone of the shell shell? I would love to hear this snare on a Dialtune kind of system. This might not make good business sense but I bet the folks at VK and Dialtune would have a blast teaming up on a project like that.

@mannykeller12 күн бұрын
Yes, but programming the pad is very time consuming using the LCD screen. The ‘editor’ is very basic and won’t let you do much.

I very much appreciate the honest review that was given here. Especially regarding the 18-inch crash. I like the sound of that crash, but I can't help but agree that the harshness is kind of killing the what would have been a really nice cymbal.
@joeldelavega76815 күн бұрын
Why are you cutting the sound before it plays out on some cymbals but not others? You're not giving a real example of the sound in order to get a shorter video? What's up?
@justinreynolds393517 күн бұрын
Every Pearl masters and above kit I have never seen a hardware issue. That's almost non existent in their high end kits. Also they would replace it for sure. I like the reference kits but I think the session studio kits are the real value for $ kits. Freaking amazing kits.

Just came from watching your Paiste PS 7 series. They sounded much better to me than these . Think they are much cheaper too ?
@dilankarun917217 күн бұрын
This is a concert snare. Think orchestral. I wouldn't use the Gavin Harrison snare for orchestral (As I saw in the comments section).. Also I wouldn't try using a concert snare behind a drumset. Tried that once and the snare buzz was ridicules 😛. Understand what something is designed for before disparaging. 😉

they sound great sitting at the kit prolly great for micing up but sounded a bit shallow standing in front acoustically, I do like the feel and sound sitting and playing them big fat sound at a reasonable price thinking about buying them, my pdp's (birch) dont even compare but they broadcast well just dont sound that good playing them sitting at the kit but records with a phone decent, am I messed up or what? was going to mic my Pacifics but not sure I'd like it, maple versus Birch I think I would go with maple any thoughts

Memory locks - YES. But Yamaha are a bunch of idiots like many of the other manufacturers. The questions are why would you not have memory locks. It takes zero debate on why you should have them. But Yamaha and other morons in the industry have made their dumb decision. Oh, well. I won't buy until you find your brains and build a normal drumset.

I don´t understand all the negative critics in this comment section. Bear in mind this is an Orchestral snare, so it features different snare wires and produce a very different sound from the drumkit snares.

Definitely a value demon for the sound, features, and versatility of this setup, especially compared to the heavy-hitters (Sonor, DW, etc.). Plus, as an engineer and drummer, the fact you can turn over the toms WHILE ON THE STAND might have sold me forever. 😮
