The first ride in the K line, but the most legendary and amazing ride for everything 🥁🤟 The stick definition, the crashability and the very strong and surprisingly cutting bell makes this ride a must have for any drummer whether you're a jazz, pop, rock or even metal drummer. I personally own it... Using it for studio sessions and live. Magic of a cymbal.

Love the different opinions in this comments section. I have one of these owned it for about 15 years and I love it. It aged really well. When I first got it i felt that it was ok, but after all the time I have put into playing it truly is a beautiful ride. So delicate. I never really crash on my ride either. I use rides really just as rides crashing on them does not sound good to my ears, usually it sounds too “big”

For sure. I love this cymbal. Purchased while working in music retail. I tried all sorts of rides but was looking for a very specific bell sound. This ride records superb and really shines live with a good engineer. Will never take this out of my set up.

I've had my 20" K Ride for three weeks now. It has to be the best ride cymbal ever! Great job, Zildjian!

What,s the difference between the 20" & 22"?
@swashington9428 жыл бұрын
Yes I know one is bigger. I guess I have to explain that I'm talking about the sound differences if any. Figured that ppl would have common sense to know that.

Sorry for the jerks here, the 22" would most likely sound a bit lower pitched and a little more washy too. Same stick definition, but more overtones. The best thing to do would be to listen to them both in person, but if you can't I'd suggest looking at memphis drum shop videos on youtube, they have a ton of video demos

20" is a little brighter on the stick and quicker to open up with you crash it, 22" is more soothing, darker, more gentle overtones and crash. Both are amazing rides, I have both and I love them. Sometimes I use the 20" as a big crash above the 22".

Still playing mine from 99! I got it because I felt it could do anything and such dynamic range. Never have been able to find anything to replace it.

Paul is an AWESOME person. Not only at his job, but he's also humble, accessible, kind and thoughtful. He has my admiration.... (I remember him, still a teen, working at Zildjian at lathing....)

Josh Eppard’s live rendition of Love Murder One (found here on KZbin) made me immediately buy this cymbal. What a salesman!

Please switch off the compressor next time you want to present the sound of a cymbal. If you dont know what compressor is, then it has nothing to do with Sound Lab...

how many grams is this ride?

You guys started making this line of rides cymbals thinner. Stop doing that. Return them to their full bodied potential and also bring back the K heavy ride. Thanks

Quite similar to mine, specially the crash and bell

What is the sound difference between the 20" K and the 22" K?
@jensharald90916 жыл бұрын
I don't know if "crashable" is the right word. They do wash more though. And also, the thinner the cymbal the faster they respond to a crash, which kinda adds up to what you're saying.

terrible, sorry Z, I haven't heard a Zildjian ride that comes close to my sabian 21 AA med. from the late 80's. BUT, most of my crashes are K cust. dark and the new A series 23" sweet ride is great but not as versatile as the Sabian
