🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Really gotta give this guy credit. Not only for his food bravery and his acceptance of various cultures but particularly for his extensive coverage of African countries. @@vana804 because they demonetized his African content and labeled it as somehow offensive to advertisers when all he is doing is showing how people are really living. @@DopeCode123 I absolutely LOVE that Sonny is showing off world cultures, and I think he's absolutely correct that KZbin is examining his vids with a "Western" lens and deeming them inappropriate. It's no secret that most Americans would get grossed out watching two guys rip apart a pig's head and eat virtually every part of it except the bones/teeth. I have to admit that the younger version of myself would never watch this, but it's important for people to understand and appreciate other cultures. I mean, it's not fucking cannibalism!!

The African apocalypse man is literally half the population of Zimbabwe (The world over really.). People in rural areas are the most self sufficient people ever. My gran used to make everything from soap, cooking oil (from peanuts), clothes, beer, peanut butter, medicine from plants and herbs. You name it, she made it. True that necessity is the mother of inventions. You do what u gotta do to survive..and thrive! She is my hero, not only did she pass down these skills to my Mom and me, she also showed us that life is not about the cards you have been dealt but how you play them to win the game. Vincent is playing his with a big beautiful smile on his face, love to see it! Thank you for the amazing content Sonny. Hope u had fun in Zim.

My grandma was the same way. My mom wasn’t interested in learning about stuff like that but I loved being with my grandma. She taught me sooo much. I appreciate everything she taught me. I’m 38 and people say I act like a old lady. I been told that since I was a kid or that I had a old soul. That’s because I loved being with my elders. My husband says I do everything the hard way. Why can’t you just buy soap. You don’t have to do all that. I’m like, I like doing things the right way without short cuts. I don’t work so I have nothing but time to make 80%-90% of our food from scratch. I got my husband into gardening and we share with family and friends. I take pride in growing food, fishing and making my food from scratch. You have me wondering how oil is made though lol. I would like to try that.

Hats off to Sonny and his team - they are always able to find very interesting co-hosts, whether it's from their charm, humour, knowledge, or history. I know food is culture, but I didn't know I'll also be learning a little tidbit of history. Bravo.

I've traveled all over the world, routinely following Andrew Zimmerman and Anthony Bourdain in their adventurous exploration of culture focused food. I applaud you for your understanding and greatly appreciate your exposure of cultures far different than your own. This is an amazing show, you are a fantastic ambassador for the United States. Please keep doing what you do.
