Mugabe's Legacy: Zimbabwe's Forgotten Children (Global Documentary) | Real Stories
[BAFTA-Winning Documentary]
Zimbabwe's Forgotten Children tells the story of three children trying to survive in Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe, a country which was once the jewel of Africa but where the infrastructure is now in terminal collapse. Grace, Esther and Obert show us how they not only struggle to put food in their mouths but also desperately seek the money they need to pay next term's school fees.

Update Esther: "After their mother died, and they were left in the care of their abusive uncle, we stepped in and managed to secure a family home for Esther and Tino. Having the comfort of a caring guardian meant that Esther was relieved of the burden of looking after her little sister. She started school again and has become a happy and cheerful child, thriving in her new enviornment."

That's what happens when you depend on the gvt rather than living the African way. Manning your own land, raising your own livestock. There's absolutely no need to go crowd the cities. Life is tough but it shouldn't be.

@kingsleyoppong-wereko7239
@kingsleyoppong-wereko7239 3 жыл бұрын
@@misshoneynevercame4832 there are no western or Asian companies in their land that occupy significant land.. That's why the Zimbabwean economy is where it is. In the video they clearly mention that farms have been left unused. The is no jobs available largely. You didn't see a single person speaking of exploitation by the west or east. The issue is the local gvt. Zimbabwe is "largely" locked from The western and Eastern world. There's no one who spoke of any land being in Western and Eastern hands. They have the land but rather than work it and restore the Zimbabwean agricultural sector they flock to cities to go starve and suffer. Rhodesia historically was brutal to the black majority however Zimbabweans were still better off, not better off because white Supremacy was better than their current democracy as western politics & media propaganda would dictate but rather because under oppression they used the little land they had to sustain themselves and be self reliant through agriculture! Livestock and primitive small scale local economic trade. As a human with hands, health and knowledge you can't lack independence to the extent where you can't even put food in your own mouth. That's all I'm saying. Yes there are extreme cases that go far beyond the normal but at no point should a country on average be on the route of starvation. That is purely unnatural.

Watching this video today June 25, 2023 I can't even express the many ways my heart is broken. The kids not being able to go to school, the hardship just trying to making through the day. I grew up poor and there were days when me and my siblings barely had anything to eat, but nothing compared to what these kids are going through. The struggle Esther, her mom and sisters are going through. When Esther was speaking about her mom's last moment such a sad thing on top of all her struggles to deal with, when she said her body hurt so much she could cry that truly broke my heart even more, The uncle locking the door with the padlock was too much. These kids have such inner strength and determination to survive. Lord have mercy. It's so sad that these kids desperately want to go to school and are not able to and yet so many today can and are not interested in going. The despair and all around lack is overwhelming.😭😭😭😭😭😭

Chrisandra Dlamine This is not the doing of Africans, or Americans, or indigenous peoples, or Europeans. This is agenda 21, 23, and 30, in action. The luciferian world bankers, hiding in Switzerland and the Zionists, of the 13 family bloodlines that connect to all the so called "elected officials" who are not elected, but selected, are engaged in destroying countries to bring in their new world order. None of this just happens. The suffering and death and destruction are engineered. Famines are deliberate. Wars are started. Economies are crashed. The world bankers hoard all the world's wealth and use it to start wars, pay off "leaders" to do their bidding, and control the information via mass media. I don't know how it will be stopped, or even if. It is all connected to ushering in the anti Christ. I realize some see this as conspiracy, however, I challenge anyone who doubts this to do a very cursory investigation into the 13 bloodlines, their connections to every country and every war and economic collapse, Rothschilds hidden agendas, 21, 23, and 30.

Zimbabwe has such a complicated history but is also one of the most beautiful countries with such amazing people. I had the privilege of studying there the past 4 years or so. Granted, things have been better the last 4 years than they were during the shooting of this video but the country is still very far from a full recovery. I love Zim! I don't even consider it "my second home", it's just home. This documentary has deepened my love for the country and its people but its also made me think deeper about just how many children are out here suffering (in general) from many different circumstances. I've always talked about and considered adoption and it's information like this that just solidifies the place I have in my heart for a child out there somewhere whose life I can completely change by simply extending love, a home, an education etc. Wonderful documentary! What a rare and resilient group of people Zimbabweans are. I'm Malawian myself, born, raised and proud! But in my heart, I am also Zimbabwean ❤️

Vusi Mthalane It sounds like a simple solution that I feel answers how to change this pattern. Africans need to realise that there is no more struggle and freedom fighting needed. You need to start electing more peaceful, caring and competent leaders now. What is happening is that the leaders elected are all 'freedom fighters', and they feel their people owe them a debt of gratitude. They 'reward' themselves with state funds meant to help the precious children and grow the economy. Then because they do such a terrible job, the next step is 'freedom fighters' to free the people from the current government of 'freedom fighters.' The consequences are that yet another psychopath takes over the control of the country. They truly do NOT have any real feeling of caring about your plight. All they want is their reward for freeing you again. Never forget that these leaders have all supported killing innocent children and women during peacetime to create a 'revolution.' Anyone capable of thinking like that IS a psychopath. Africa needs steady, peaceful, compassionate, properly educated and experienced wise leaders. They create a climate of stability. Stability creates trust. Trust promotes growth and development. Until this happens, the suffering will get progressively worse with each new 'revolution' and 'fight for freedom.' African leaders have been well trained in propaganda. Propaganda litetally brainwashes the majority. Brainwashed people respond with extreme emotion, but no real solutions. Its a terrifying cycle and its being taught at school already! May God bless your nation. May you have peace and prosperity

That’s because nobody should have to care about you. Fix your own problems. You know Australia was a prison country before right? Everyone living there are descendants of nothing but prisoners and they stood up and revolted and built something. Problem is everybody in These type of places, don’t have hearts and will just walk by a littler girl living alone with her baby sister and won’t do anything, or every SAY anything to anyone that can help. Most of Africa, and other 3rd world countries have a caring problem. Fix that and most of your problems will go away.

This film reminds me of my childhood. There was a time when life was tough. I was the only child in my class who didn't pay school fees. I still remember every morning my vice principal popped in class calling my name to leave the class before the other students. I was bright at school but had little chance to prove my point. So painful indeed but I thank my parents they soldered on during this difficult time and never abandoned us. God bless my mother who is still alive and my father who left me in 2005. @@gneza1 yes, I so agree with you. We all have difficulty in life but I realize how blessed I am. I have clean water to drink and bathe in anytime I like. I have fresh healthy food to eat, I have a warm bed to sleep in and I am safe. I have a loving and supportive family and we are all very close and spend much time together. All of this makes me realize that I have more than so many and It keeps me humble. ❤

I want to pay for all the kids school fee… This video broke my soul..How can a government do this to its own people. The kids in America are so ungrateful for their free education. I want to adopt the 3 boys living with the grandma.

Or how about this..wetting a piece of gum and stretching it by the creek. Placing that piece of gum on a twig. Catch two small birds a cat would've kicked away! Something we need to think long and hard about. Before we complain about someone not cooking our favorite meal or steak dinner.

how crazy is this? in America we are complaining about schools using school-issued Laptops instead of teaching cursive. School issued Laptops!!. these children don't have food I get it, I grew up in a very wealthy community.after seeing this I'm quite disgusted.on the other hand, to send actual money is to invite corruption. IDK the answer.
