This performance of Schrei is great; way better than the performances of Scream I've seen on here! While I prefer the english songs except for In Die Nacht and Spring Nicht (I liked Don't Jump so much that I looked up the german version), this is really good. I miss TH's old sound.

11 years later came her to say that he explained it. In all European tv shows playback is a requirement due to technical difficulties to transfer the sound correctly when shown on tv. They do not allow any of artists play without it. However during their live shows like this they did not use playback at all, instead they got very expensive and best sound technique to record the sound correctly.

@@ReonCaes He can hit that note but it must be straining his voice and it must have taken a lot of tries to sound like the "perfect scream" during the recording. Basically screaming isn't worth the risk.

Since they were a "Teen" band phenom, they were typically on popular host/music shows that normally had terrible acoustics, production, etc, so most artists that went on these shows were forced to do playback by the station. Most artists do not willingly choose to do playback and considering TH's past I doubt they chose to either.
