How to: Replace a Bad Water Temperature Sensor on your pool heater - Easy DIY

Watch as I go through the process of fixing and replacing my pool heater's water temperature sensor. I have an AquaCal SQ156, but this will work on many AquaCal heaters/chillers as well as potentially other equipment such as hayward, pentair, and more.
Symptoms of a bad water temperature sensor may include your heater displaying an incorrect temperature that isn't within a 3-5 degree calibration range. My sensor was showing 20 degrees or more higher than the actual pool temperature.
Be sure to turn off all breakers prior to working on pool equipment, and if you're unable to perform these tasks on your own, hire a professional!

Did the repair work? My sensor is reading too high as well, but it is also not turning off when it goes beyond its set temp. Think it's the sensor... ? Or maybe control board?

The repair worked for me. Heater kicks on and off based on set temp.

AQUACAL doesn’t sell the og part the heater? Mines take for ever to get to the set temperature. Example it shows 82 or 84 and i set it for 89 or 90. Hot water is coming out but not moving the temperature on display. My salt generator will show the actual temp 89 or 90.
