The Zinfandel grapes that originally came to California from the Primitivo grapes of South Italy (Puglia), actually came over to Italy well before that from just across the Adriatic Sea In Croatia where they are still grown after millennia.

Yes! Any recommendations? I splurged and went opolo Mountain Zinfandel and that’s my favorite wine atm

Have you had the opportunity to try Zins from the Dry Creek region? IMHO... the best. Very, very jammy and smooth. Ages nicely.

@@OGBradford Nice choice with the Opolo Mountain Zin. Luckily my local wine shop carries it so usually have some in the cellar when needed. Some to consider (some of my favorites) are from Turley (Juvenile and Pesenti), Thacher Zin, Linne Calodo (zin blends), Rotta Winery, Grey Wolf, Minassian-Young...to name a few...all from Paso!....salud!

Griffone primivito zinfandel is absolutely old school. It tastes like vinegar.
