Zion Canyon Overlook & Snow Canyon
The title says it all. It was especially fun watching Tina amazed by the snow. She's an Arizona native, so snow is something she didn't grow up with. And then we went to Snow Canyon....to see no snow, but amazing views nonetheless.

Just some useless trivia... Snow Canyon was actually named after Lorenzo and Erastus Snow, early Utah pioneers. Not for snow. Just like the town of Snowflake, AZ was named (I remember learning in some high school class too many years ago) after two founding families, the Snows and the Flakes. Thanks for the video!

Canyon Overlook is a solid trail. And short and sweet (but a great pay off.) Go early though. We got so lucky with a spot opening up just as we approached the tunnel.

Snow Canyon is hands-down my favorite State Park in Utah... Dead Horse point takes a close second but that is pretty much Canyonlands NP...

Okay, add snow canyon onto my really long list of places to go. As a photographer you had amazing light and clouds when you were there and the pools reflecting those clouds at both 6:24 and 7:35 had me drooling. Coming back to Sedona in August for the sole purpose of finding pools and crazy light with the monsoons. And being from Buffalo, NY I'd like to offer you, Tina, and anybody who wants some I will ship you all the dang snow you want! LOL By this time in January we are all a little sick of it. Oh, Having had the pleasure of Escobars on my last trip I totally understand the disappointment you can hear and see from everyone when it was closed.

Haha! Having grown up in Illinois, I know what it's like to have snow. Tina doesn't. I keep trying to tell her the awesomeness wears off, just like the 120 degree days out here get old. But the more time I spend out here, the more amazed I am by the snow.

Nice, alternative sites if others do not pan out for the trip. Definitely Zion Canyon Overlook. The videos you make have been instrumental in places on my itinerary. I am from Austin, TX and have been in Atlanta for 2+ years, feel trapped! I have lived off and on in the east most of my life, wish I could live out west. My better power, she wins in our current home site.

Great to hear you plan on going. As you’d expect, the most popular drives and hikes can be crowded. But like you’ve said in your videos there are ways around that, specifically by starting early. We certainly found that to be true in Glacier. Despite the crowds, it’s still very much worth seeing the beautiful scenery from the GTTS road, from the trails, and along the lakes and rivers.

Great seeing snow in Zion. I got you one better, we did the Wave in snow and nobody knew where to go except this “old hiker.” Led 19 people in there with snow covering all the cairns and landmarks. So I shouldn’t call you crazy for hiking in a snow storm. Loved the shots of Snow Canyon. It’s on our 2023 bucket list along with Long Dong Silver et el. It’s nice to see you kids having so much fun. Love being called "kids"! And the Wave in the snow? I would LOVE to see it in the snow. We actually wanted to try the lottery on this trip but I'm sure the road was unpassable (and they changed the in person to the app and it's 2 days in advance now instead of 1 so we missed our chance.) Somehow, after over 5 years of trying, I was able to win the online lottery though. So maybe we'll get lucky here in a couple months.

I love the Canyon Overlook Trail. Such a great short hike and so much easier than Angels landing. You almost get the same view. The difference is Angels Landing looks south and Canyon Overlook looks northwest to view the same valley.

We love visiting Zion, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon. We enjoy seeing videos of those places, but please know your videos are our favorites of them on KZbin. You do such a nice job of putting everything together for your postings…from hearing how much you appreciate those areas, to seeing Tina’s facial expressions of how wonderful it is to be there. Thank you! Oh, and I messaged Clint about the possibility of you all heading to Glacier N.P. He said you’d been talking about it. I hope you go-would love to see the video(s) of that.

Thank you for your videos. It has inspired me to visit the places in you videos. I have hiked angles landing and Bryce Canyon because of your videos. I plan on doing some slot canyons on my next visit. I have applied for the wave permit several times but haven't won yet.. it's hard for me to visit Utah and Airzona because I'm from Pennsylvania. I visit Las Vegas often and always plan a day for hiking . Maybe I'll se you on the trail.

Canyon Overlook is a great trail. Love that Zion snow! I know Escobar's is the all time fave, but you might give Mazatlan Mexican Grill in Hurricane, UT, a try if you're going through that neck of the woods again.

Going to Zion NP through the East Entrance is always the most magical trip, but in the snow...! Beautiful! Currently living in the Great White North, but grew up in Scottsdale, so totally understand Tina's glow with the snow. ( I still love it when there's 2 feet on the ground.) Fun to watch you and Clint bounce off each other...you bone heads. 😁 Lotsa fun! ...but where's the Tina salute?

Ouch. I'm heading down to Zion this week in an open air vehicle. I was under the impression that the snow was all gone. While I think it is... now I'm a little nervous. :) So far I have Watchman Trail and this, Zion Canyon Overlook on my list. Thinking about headed over to Elkhart near Kanab for some rappelling as well. Thanks for the video!

Just got back from Illinois, actually. Have to say I prefer AZ. I've had multiple trips planned to Salt Trail, but none have panned out to date. But it is high on the list. The climb out is not as high on Tina's list, so we'll see if it's one or both of us when that video finally happens.

Never seen Zion in Winter, snow covered, really magical. As someone living in Europe, where is snow canyon situated adjacent to Zion and what would the temperature difference between the two locations ??

Not sure on the specifics, but it's to the west. About a 30~45 min drive. The east Zion entrance starts at a much higher elevation and you just drive further and further down from there. Snow Canyon looks to be 2~3,000' lower elevation (than Canyon Overlook where we hiked in this video). Not the best explanation, but I haven't explored Snow Canyon enough.

Depends on what you want from a city. Phoenix is a larger metropolis but much easier to get around in than say Chicago, Baltimore, or a 'normal' big city. I really like it because everything you could want is here. Plenty of good hiking, but it gets hot in the summer (summer being about 9 months long out here.) Smaller towns further north like Strawberry can give you a small town feeling and some pine trees. Flagstaff is popular (and cooler) and pretty big, but also has snow in the winter. More of a college town. I really like Page too, but it's kind of out in the middle of nowhere. Of course 'nowhere' has some of the most amazing scenery on the planet, it's close to stuff in southern Utah and there's Lake Powell right there. But also kind of a seasonal resort town with the lake. Don't spend as much time in southern AZ, but if you like the old west and AZ scenery it's interesting. Then of course there's Sedona. Love visiting but the traffic/crowds would drive me insane if I lived there. Obviously left out a lot of places, but it really depends on what you want in where you live.

I use Artlist more than Epidemic Sound lately. It's pretty much the same set up. I'm really liking Artlist, especially for music with vocals. (I try to put the songs and artists in the description of the videos. I really like Sunriver who I used for the opening song in this one.)
