ZION Subway will Blow your MIND | Top Down Route | Left Fork Canyoneering in Zion National Park

‪@JerryArizona‬ took me through the top down route (Canyoneering Route) of the Subway..aka the Left Fork. The Subway is a uniquely beautiful slot canyon in the Zion Wilderness of Zion National Park. Permits are required to access this area...

and YES they do Check! This is one of the best slot canyons in Utah and it is highly protected by the National Park System.
There are two ways to see the Subway...
1. Bottom Up Route - This is non technical and is a point to point hike which involves a strenuous trail that will take you to see the main part of the subway.
Or
2. The Top Down Route - (Canyoneering Route) This is the technical route that drops down from above the subway and you access some of the best parts of the subway that the bottom up route will not see. This way you will see everything the the subway has to offer. This route has 3 rappels that max out at about 25 feet. Do Not Attempt this section if you don't know what you are doing. There are guides that can help...

My friend and I did this Last year but from the bottom up. We went as far as that last little waterfall. It was amazing! But to see the canyoneering route?? Omg 😍

That is awesome! And just to experience the Subway in general is something to be proud of. I would have never attempted the Top down without the push from my friends though...now I'm wanting to do more now! I bet it was a tough hike going in from the bottom up...

@@TheNotLostNomad It was mid to upper 80’s and hot! I felt the only real challenge was climbing down into the canyon and then climbing back out. Soaked in the creek for a bit before heading on up 🥵. But those little pools at the Subway were ice cold! Had to go through though to get to the waterfall! I’m gonna have to go through my videos and pics again this was such an amazing trail.

Wow! I think we would need a guide. But it looks absolutely amazing. How long was the hike?

It would definitely be worth hiring a guide! It wasn't too challenging and if I can do it then almost anyone could. So AllTrails says it's 7.8 miles but a big portion of that is very slow going...so it'll take a while.
