Shaq was NOTORIOUS for coming into the season overweight and just cruising thru the season and getting in shape for the playoffs. It was one of the rumors back in the day why Kobe hated Shaq behind the scenes. Kobe had to carry the team thru the regular season and Shaq just dominated in the playoffs and got all the limelight.

The difference is Shaq played 60+ games 6 of 8 seasons with the Lakers all while averaging 27pts 12rebs 2.5blks. You can get on him for his habits off the court, but you can't argue the production on the court. Zion on the other hand is having a hard enough time staying on the court.

All inaccurate. Shaq was running. Zion isn't. That's all he said. About Kobe, it really still is hard to admit that Shaq was the best player in the league during those years when Kobe was young? Smh.. mvp and fmvp for a reason.

I have followed Zion since he was in highschool and in every interview you can tell he isn't a dumb guy who wants to flash guns on ig. He knows what's the problem, he just can't stop eating. It's an addiction at this point and only rehab can fix it. It can be a real struggle. He should really sorround him with people who would check him and say no.

As a casual fan to Zion, he is coming off much more professional in this interview than previous appearances. From the outside it kind of seem like he acted like he won everything [with the hype around him] but did nothing. I dont root for or against the Pels, I really just want to see good basketball, and this portrays a better attitude Zion has going in to the season than years previous. I would love to see him take the next step and start to dominate. TBH, I feel like he needs a coach to fire him up and be honest with him about being an all time great vs being good.

I don't think the loss to the lakers was due to his weight or anything. He played his part and made his shots but the lakers put up good defense on him after the 1st quarter. I don't know if anyone noticed but lebron was visibly frustrated with the lakers defense and the pelicans' second chance points in that first quarter so LeCoach probably happened. It is what it is.
