Zippo lighter for pipe smoking?

Don’t think twice about “production value.” You’re doing great and I love that your videos are very human and down to earth. You keep being you. I’ve been tempted to get a zippo on many occasions and never have. I think you’ve sold me on it. I’ve also seen they have butane inserts. I’m curious about your thoughts or experience with those?

I do not have any experience with thoese no. In fact i didnt even know they made butane inserts. Next thing for me is goin to try the big boy lighters. Thx for your input

I own many Zippos and only use them for all of my pipes. If you wait two seconds after lighting it , you should not taste any fluid taste. I never do. All of mine have the pipe insert. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Totally agree with your views. Keep up with your efforts. A word of encouragement………..content is much more important than production equipment. Your equipment is good the way it is now. 🎉😊😎

I've been through a few lighters, zippo with pipe insert is the best, it works in most conditions, it's easy to carry, it looks cool, and the pipe insert works for anything, cigars, candles, etc. just turn it sideways.

Zippo - the original fidget spinner. I actually didn't buy the pipe insert, I just took a rotary tool to the original insert and cut out the edges. Works fine too, even if the top isn't covered but has the benefit that it retains all the original functionality since the top isn't covered.. It does look a bit like it's been to hell and back though, but who cares - zippos look best when they're busted up anyway.

I bought the pipe version and found it very unpleasant to use oily smelly clunky high maintenance though I might give the butane pipe insert a go. Im much happier with a 1pound clipper with the short chimney

I like the Butane soft flame lighters like the Kiribi and Old Boy. I have a zippo and been thinking about getting the insert just for some variety.

I do use my Zippo with a pipe insert very frequently. When there’s no wind I prefer matches, but with a breeze? Zippo works when matches and butane don’t.

I like the plain zippos pretty well. I actually prefer the original insert but it's just a personal preference

​​​​​​@@h.joshi_ I use a zippo too with normal insert i do it like this i take the zippo hold it by the cap put in haf way upside pull the flame in and do my false light Then wait til it cools down and do my true light the same way I do wait a few second when put the flame on so the funes go aways from the fluid Also try do it in the middle of the bowl and when the tobacco is lit pul the zipp aways becaus there is a chance it can hit the side of the bowl so pul the flame away as soon as its done

I tried using my old zippo for lighting my pipe(with and without the pipe insert), but found the lighter fluid smell to harsh. Years ago when I smoked ciggs it was fine, but with a pipe I spend more time with it lit and notice the fluid smell a bit too much.

I find with Zippos that they are ok for ribbon and course cut but not really good when trying to char light flake
