Why do I feel that the Insert was changed to something new mid-sandblasting. The side pitting/being bent disappeared, as well as the insert is from January 2010, while the case is 1932-1989. 3:51 - Pitting visible, back side is bent inwards, 3:59 - Insert is swapped to a new one. Apart from that - end result is insane, as this was more of a wood/epoxy project, rather than a true restoration, that ain't much. Enjoyed the video still
@CoolAgainRestoration2 жыл бұрын
I've already discussed this with others who have commented. due to the rust, the insert looked flat, and when the surface was sandblasted, the shapes began to show. the rust was not deep and the surface had no pits. Indeed, I removed the insert while blasting to better clean the inside with a small brush. then I straightened the board. I didn't show it in the video, because I would have made the video too long and it wasn't a very complex job. I've reviewed that part a few dozen times and you certainly have every reason to believe that the insert has been changed. but I assure you it was not so. Indeed, the insert is newer than the case, but that's how I bought the lighter. I bought it from a beach boy, most likely it was found on the beach near the Black Sea, Constanta, the city where I live. Cheers and glad you liked at the end 👍🏻

@@idiotic_dude :) Unless the cap is bigger than the bottom, the bottom of the case has no logo on it at this time stamp. Neither does the lid. The Zippo logo and related is gone under the bottom part of the case, and there is no "solid brass" on any of it either when it comes out of the glass beads. It most definitely looks like another case. However, just because the guy has chosen to use another case doesn't make the video less interesting. Hi Rick ! You should check the thickness for the casting resin. For example mines,you can turn only 10 mm layer. After some tutorials video on KZbin, I bet you will become a pro. Is nothing too hard when working with resin. Just be careful with the bubbles. When mix the resin,you need to vacuum the air from epoxy

Oh my godness ! Not only the work done is fantastic and the quality of the video itself perfect, I also saw that you reply to every single comments (and pretty fast) ! O.O You are so motivated and this is so inspiring even though I am in a complete different era (Piano, Games, etc...), I am slowly healing from my anxiety disorders since my diagnosis (2-3 years ago + Nervous breakdown followed by returned anxiety in march 2022) as well as my overthinking as well as increasing my positivity, self-positivity and what comes with it in order to turn this negative into positive and begin to be productive when I would have healed from that, (as a 15 years old). I also need to work on my substance abuse (Marijuana) later on. This made me randomly think of that and the work I have to do on myself in a positive way, just because of how dedicated, motivated and hard-working you are ! Thank you so much for your work and that right there, is a piece of art, I cannot believe how well was this restoration done !. I hope that everything goes well in your life, thank you for this content once again and this reminder that it gave me, may love and peace be upon you for the rest of your life, have an amazing day (:❤

Thank you very much for these kind words. I feel sad to read about that but you should know one thing. Every one has problems, and every problem begin in our brain . Probably sometimes we need just a reset in all we do it and start doing positive things and things who keep us calm . I hope you be well very soon. Thanks for enjoying my content, I try my best . Have a nice day too mate
