I am from Yorktown Va and big Hatteras's where the thing. Talk about flare and digging in the waves. I live on the island of Cebu in the Philippines now and all I have seen here are out rigger canoes of different sizes. They got some big ones but nothing like these. @machinist72304 жыл бұрын
That 92 foot Viking was almost certainly north of 10 million dollars, and with boats of this size, the rule of thumb is 10% of the replacement price every year in operating costs, not counting fuel...

Great comment!!
@robtaylor68064 жыл бұрын
I've worked on a few of those boats over the years. I worked full time for a family that had a few Jarrett Bays for many years. Then got stupid and started 2 businesses and stepped away from it fulltime but still free lanced for a couple years on a few of boats. 4 years ago started working for a family with a 55 and 60 Viking that just did 20ish fun days plus the NC governor's cup and 3-4 more tournaments a year, so I can still run my companies. Ocean City was always a fun tournament and usually our third from the last for the year, followed by Pirates Cove then Virginia Beach. But $$$ greatly depends on the boat and the owners. The 10% is roughly right, depending on what all you include in that number, everyone is different. But if everything is mechanically sound, the 10% is just basic upkeep and preventative maintenance. depending on location, wash it and clean out strainers a few times a week, wax it, polish everything, every couple weeks flush all the heat exchangers, a/c's, ice maker, freezer plate compressors, etc. Just a constant dance

I initially didn't really like the sport fishing yachts. Assumed alot of bait tackle, fish guts etc etc all over the place. Until I started watching videos of the interior on most of them. Wow, I had no idea how big they were and how nice the inside is. Now, they are at the top of my list. Love their sleek and simple style. I still have no idea how these pilots are able to see over the bow of these sporting yachts and center consoles.

Blue flags with white billfish is for white Marlin. White flag with blue billfish is for blue marlin. The image on the flag matches the fish species. Flown right-side up indicates a boated fish. It's an efficient and effective design that has worked for its purpose. A high bow to shear water away at speed and low-freeboard cockpit to enable fish handling. The hulls are designed for speed and comfort of ride. The Bridge allows captain to see the action in the cockpit and behind the boat when fighting fish and to see the bow underway. The high towers allow crew to better sight bait fish on the surface as well as targeted species chasing them. These are just a few.
