@Cad Bane i agree that its Basic, just like in D&D its Common, but pushing it to all be the workings of exceptionism is a bit much. I legit only learned it's called Basic because of the Star Wars D20 RPG, and because of the books. Rather than being harsh about it, you could have just said "They call it Basic in star wars, I learned that from (source), the native language you watch it in is just a filler language, like how it is for Lord of the Rings." Lord of the Rings literally is a retelling in the published languages we read it in, Tolkien explained that for his world, its in English so that we can read it, but they use their own language

I don't think blaster shots _can even hurt_ Hutts to begin with. I remember part of the lore is that they were so dangerous because their skin evolved to be so thick as to be immune to blaster fire.

I believe it’s said the Hutts can speak basic(or English) but choose not to because of their pride. Ziro was initially supposed to speak Huttese into a microphone which would translate it into English but the idea was scrapped because they didn’t think that younger audiences of the show would understand what the microphone translator was.
