I know that this interview is suppose to be a parody/slow roast of Anna, but I feel like she kinda outsmarted a lot Ziwe's questions the whole time. Like I think they expected her to be completely delusional and in denial of her past, but in some she ways was pretty straightforward and sarcastically witty that all Ziwe could do is just repeat Anna's words, because there wasn't much material to work with a part from that.
@Imjusticebro2 ай бұрын
She repeated her words whenever Anna dodged the questions to prove that she did not really answer the question without explicitly stating so. Like when she said “name immigrants you met” and then Anna rambled about her experience rather than actually doing as the question asked. So, Anna didn’t outsmart Ziwe’s question, she just dodged them. Kardashian level media training but it’s not outsmarting the interviewers question basically just ignoring them and saying what they want.

The thing though, is she's a liar. She scammed poor working class people too. Read the actual reports, not what she says by deflection. She 'borrowed' money from friends. Not rich friends, but regular people. Some lost their life savings. That netflix series 'Inventing Anna' left out the gritty parts. They painted her as a modern-day Robin Hood. She definitely isn't.

@@tutuzicocojust to clarify, I’m loving the “character” she is portraying from a dramatic/storytelling standpoint. Her unhinged, blank-eyed audacity is beyond my comprehension and I find it highly fascinating. From a practical standpoint, she is a reprehensible human who has benefited wildly from identity-based privileges compared to other people who are immigrants or criminals in this country. Just because she scammed rich people that I don’t feel sorry for doesn’t mean she was right to do it. She should be held accountable, and I’m glad Ziwe did this interview and called her ass to the carpet. Her mess does need to be exposed for what it really is, and I think Ziwe has done just that.

EDIT: And I feel like that doesn't even cover the depth and breadth of her interviewing abilities, the interviews she does with people who aren't morally bankrupt (to our knowledge!!) are just as illuminating and challenging for the guest in their own ways; her Fran Leibowitz interview on the Showtime show is the reason I know Fran Leibowitz as a person at all in addition to having a sense of her greater media and literary prominence.

She's drawing on printer paper for god's sake 🤣 I bet she drew those in 15 min on the corner of a coffee table. As an artist I can tell you it's a complete scam or more precisely a cash grab. Time will tell but I have the feeling her work will not increase in value as she's not offering much new ideas or skills. She just saying if I'm an opportunist then you are one as well, but then it kinda stops there. It's actually an extremely shallow take on society. It's sensationalist and if you saw her drawings outside of that context you would think a teenager drew these. So yes it is a complete scam and that is the whole point of her artistic practice 😂 She is trolling her buyers. But then buying super expensive art is also often a scam to avoid taxes. Maybe if she develops her ideas more then it would be different, yet I think her work is popular because it keeps that ambiguity which will be a challenge for her to maintain if she doesn't come up with more ideas

Same reason why a card of XXX baseball player sells for way more if its signed by that person. Would you consider it a scam to buy something signed at a higher price than if it was unsigned? likely not, and if yes than your view of what is a scam is pretty skewed.

The entire art market is a scam used by the rich for tax evasion loop holes. The actual art has 0 meaning to the process it's all about buying expensive, then sitting on it for a few years, then donating it. When you donate a piece of art, you get the estimated value as a tax deduction, and the estimated value is calculated based on how much you paid for it and how long you have been sitting on it. This was absolute cinema!! What I loved about this interview is the fact that, usually, Anna walks through interviews with contempt and mockery, because she outsmarts almost all interviewers. But not this time. Ziwe is wicked smart as well, and Anna knows it. She knows she can't fool around, not this time with someone who can match her perspicacity. She tried to play dumb in most of her answers and to pretend she didn't care about Ziwe's emulation lol.
