Zlatan had a tough time during his playing days in Malmö FF. A young, confident kid that believed in himself and wasn't shy about voicing it. In Sweden we have something called "jantelagen", roughly translated to "the jante law". It basically means that you shouldn't think that you're better than anyone else. Add racism/xenophobia to the mix and you can understand why people disliked him. But he wasn't there to be liked, he was there to win, to be one of the best strikers in soccer history. And win he did, everywhere he ever played. His legacy is solidified. Meanwhile every other player on that old Malmö team is long forgotten, never even achieving a tenth of what IBRA accomplished. Thank God Zlatan was never "swedish" enough...or else the rest of us would have missed out on soccer greatness!

In a perfect world he would understand the situation Lebron is in but it seems he is a selfish entitled man that cried racism to get him ahead even though he could have just let his results speak for themselves. He has never been under the same pressure as Lebron but he spoke like he did. Makes me wonder how many charitable organizations he has started or what has he done to help kids who might or are growing up in a similar position in his home country. Maybe he's just talk when it comes to racism, no one doubts he is or was good on the pitch though. He needs to educate himself before starts going after people that have.

Lived in Sweden for 20 years and coached football in mixed race teams and like Zlatan said, foreigner players had to work 10 times harder to be seen, Sweden lost generations of very good players because of discrimination. The colored players that you often see in the national team are often the ones that accepted a Swedish identity and behave like Swedes.
