I have the mk II, they are best bang for your buck. I have headphones 4 times the price and I'd say fuk the controversy, just get those.

you should test with better OTL then Darkvoice that is too much soupy... staying on cheap well sounding level just a Little Dot MK2 with 6SN7 (Sylvania or GE Canada) and EF95 (Fivre or Brimar) would be much better... testing this headset with SS amplifier is, imho, a nonsense... 300Ohm impedance need OTL amp. period.

oh yes sir you are right, with cheap tubes you loose bass control, dynamic punch is less impactful, worse clarity etc etc so basically that experience can ruin opinion about product

You should try resting your glasses on top of the pads instead of normally under the pads. It looks weird but feels and sounds better.

Owned the Verite open and had no comfort issues. Currently own the Verite closed and again no comfort issues. Many find these comfortable, kinda odd. They also really scale with a better dac and amp, especially a tube amp.

oh yea my VC is driven only by tubes, without that it is incomplete and few can call them lifeless hollow etc

Man that's tough. Haven't heard the HE6SE, but between the Arya and Clears, I'd go with the Clears if you're looking for the closest all-rounder. If you're looking for that legendary bass response and better comfort, go with the Aryas. Hope this helps!

Bummer about the comfort to you, I find my ZMF to be the most comfortable headpone I've tried. I have a small head and they clamp really good for me, I actually like a lot of clamp. Try bending the cups up into the headband, like Zach does in his video.

Will you review other ZMF as well? There are many different opinions on what's the "best" ZMF. Some people prefer the Aeolus or Auteur over the Verite, which is very interesting. I bought an Aeolus myself over ebay and always questioning myself if I should've bought the Auteur instead.

Hey why don’t you review auteur with the auteur lambskin pads or uni perf suede pads? I think you said you were using eikon pads and those aren’t ideal if so

I just happened to buy these off of someone with the Eikon pads on them. I'm looking into buying the Auteur pads and maybe a pilot/copilot headband for a part 2 review. Good thing is, the Eikon pads already make these sound pretty great :)

@@junseicpcp6903 I can see what they mean by "underwater." It most likely refers to the shape of the soundstage. It reminds me of a capsule. Not in any particular order, the best sound quality not regarding price are, - Arya - HD800/s - ZMF Auteur - Focal elex - Hifiman Ananda But of course, that doesn't include sound signature, comfort, etc.
