Two big boys out for a test. We had our Zodiac Cadet 360FR and Suzuki 15HP EFI on notch three from the bottom. We were setup with a 11' prop and Hydrofoil SE 200 self-installed. Bow rise was minimal and were on- plane in 1.5 seconds. Transom splash was kept to a minimum if our body weight was near the middle.

It could use more power depending on what the intended use is. My friend has the 20 HP Suzuki on the 9.8 FT Cadet 300 and its perfect. When loaded with people and gear, it still slows down a bit. This one is rated for a 30 HP.

You got to change your prop down 2 inches to a 9 inch pitch. Your motor sounds a tad bogged down due to high pitch prop.

Love seeing your boy out there driving the rig! Very cool kid! And thanks for putting the waist belt on! Also, if that Suzuki is a short shaft, Zodiacs transom will make the outboard sit too low and the anti-ventilation plate will be up to 2" under water. I see your outboard can't go much higher on the transom. If you want more speed, a small 4" jack plate will get your outboard's anti-ventilation plate to skim the surface of the water. You'll likely be surprised at the increase of speed with so much less drag. You should hit 25 (maybe 27 depending on weight) with the 15. ***Edit - Just noticed it's the fast roller edition. So yes you'll gain a little top speed though without the rigid hull that may hamper that a bit.

I added the hydro foil plate. It was certainly better. Yes, it is the Fast Roller. Crazy summer but I never took her out this year. Hopeful that will change next week. Cheers !

Can you just use some pieces of wood to raise the motor? I'm having this exact issue atm with my Zod Fastroller 3.6 + 9.9stroke. Engine is splashing and its sitting too low in the water. I got 18 knots despite the low dragging motor.

@@robsproducts you technically can, yes. There are two caveats. 1) When the mounting bolts are too high you’re putting unusual stress at the top of the transom by squeezing it. There are normally laminations there and they’re at risk of cracking. 2) The motor is at higher risk of coming loose and popping off the transom. So be sure to secure it with a safety wire. Even 1/4” increments up make huge differences in drag. Presuming your 9.9 is a short shaft you’re probably about 2” too low. This is the Jack plate I used and it keeps the mounts where it should be on the transom. osemar Jack Plate for Outboard Motor Boat JPL4000 6'' Setback Adjustable smile.amazon.com/dp/B08TWSTYCV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KEF6BKZMFJ2WEHW1H34V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

@@cbensch okay thanks for the info. I transport my boat rolled up so I don't think I could get something permanent like this. I think there is room on the metal mounting section of the transom for me to get an inch or two of height without coming too close to the edge. Maybe I can reinforce the top of the transom as well. Cheers.

It topped out at 19-20 MPH. Not bad considering it’s 15 hp and total boat and motor less than 200 lb.

@@LibertyBanjo my 11 foot hydroforce air floor tops out at about 30 with 1 person, and 20-25 with 2. I have a 15hp 2020 Mercury, to get 30 with 1 person your i use my tiller extension and sit towards the front.

@@nicholasadamek8166 I have a HydroForce 10.8 with an old 15 hp 2 stroke and I top out only around 17-19. That seems a bit fast for a 15 and HydroForce. Maybe my propeller pitch is too aggressive to make to go fast but my engine seems to be in an optimal rev range. I could plane the boat with 4 smaller people and maintain 15-16 mph.
