As for the bracelet mine is the oyster style and if you have a smaller wrist than 6.75inches you will have to break a fixed like for it to fit.

Outstanding review Sam, thank you, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and perspective. I bought this watch over the holidays, and I'm am very happy. I bought mine with the rubber strap, which as you noted is of exceptional quality. The watch is beautiful, runs very accurate, and sits very comfortably on my 6.75in wrist. The lume is the weakest part of this watch, although I love the orange color, and initially bright, it just does not last the whole night. This weakness of the watch does not bother me to be honest, as the rest is all outstanding. Thank you again for your video, and hope you have wonderful weekend.

Yes, I agree it’s great looking and a well done vintage reissue. I think the Oris offerings would be its strongest competition.

I disagree. Oris is a $2,000 dive watch. I would compare this more along the lines of a Mido Ocean Star Tribute. Both share around the same retail price, same retro styling, and the same caliber movement. I daily a Mido and just ordered a Zodiac. Not because I need another dive watch, but because those colors are incredible.

Great review and great watch. The price is excellent and even matches the original 1953 price when adjusted for inflation. (Unlike fellow Rolex and Blancpain) The orange lume is strange but I appreciate zodiac trying new colors and styles to keep classic designs fresh and interesting. Thank you for the great work on your videos.

I love this watch and I love Zodiac as a brand, with Squale are some of my favourite brands. And they produce watches with style, great characters, story and good spec’s with a very reasonable price. I can understand Rolex and Omega, but lately Longines and Oris for example are all over the moon. The longines skin diver cost more than 3k (of course you can find always on sale because no one would paid that money) and honestly is not worthy double the price of that.

I just had to make a really hard decision this past week. I was deciding on my first ever swiss auto and was going to get the Squale 1545 with the grey dial. Great reviews, gorgeous piece. But then i came across the Zodiac ZO9289 and fell in love with it. I was able to snag it for brand new from Zodiac for 60% off so it was a no brainer. I just got it today and its fantastic. I cant stop looking at the dial and love the vanilla strap. Ive become a huge fan of Zodiac and will definitely be getting more…..after i snag a Squale of course.

A decent enough watch but it looks like a pass in my ongoing search for the best vintage inspired diver…for me. Being a self admitted lume junkie on tool watches If I’m settling for weak lume I’ll often consider a well sorted original rather than a modern reissue. This brand could also do a better job of “ telling their story” to leverage the positive association many enthusiasts have for the name. Great balanced review Sam!

It’s pretty interesting history, the reason we have workers comp and Health and Safety in the workplace is partly due to Radium exposure.
