Zoe, I am so glad you made this series. I am a graphic designer based in NYC who has always had an interest in fashion. I graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design a little over a year ago. While studying, I was able to take a couple fashion courses. I think this playlist is a great resource and I cannot thank you enough for your wealth of knowledge!

I'm totally in love with this series! A week ago I was trying to cut all the design corners and start halfway through the design process.... Thank you for metaphorically slapping me into realising what an idiot I was being!!

Zoe, I like the fact that you tell people that it is hard because it's hard, not because there is something wrong with us! Right on!

That was true facts about costume history and recycled trends. I liked how u explain that👏
@zoehongteaches7 жыл бұрын
I hope you got I was mostly kidding. hahaha Of course costume designers need to study it for historical accuracy, and I actually think that trends in clothes reflect socio-economic trends of the times and there's a lot to be learned from that. But yeah, we do keep bringing ugly crap back like we don't know better.

hi Zoe, Great work all the time, love love love...so i finished my fashion design diploma earlier this year and i want to work as a freelance designer while i am also searching for internships but i do not know how to go about it , how to search and get people interested in my work and give me jobs? Thank you
@zoehongteaches7 жыл бұрын
Network. Everything is about who you know and that goes triple for freelancing. Go to events, talk to people, hand out cards, follow up.

Hi Zoe! @Zoe Hong My name's Jisha. I am an ardent fan of your tutorials! Your videos are so informative, that I've got pages n pages of notes jotted now.. thank you so so so much for the amazing information you've given so far.. :) :) I'll be honored if you could answer one question regarding the current series.. If the entire research journal information have to be turned into a one portfolio project, could you please show us how the various inspiration sources can be turned into a single page Mood Board with Colour Story? I hope it isn't too much too ask.. Looking forward to your reply.. Thanks in advance.. :)

Do u pay for this swatches or u just got them for free? Please let us know how do we order swatches?
@zoehongteaches7 жыл бұрын
I got these swatches as a gift from a friend who is a fabric sales rep. She gave me these old swatches so I could make these videos. If you want swatches like this on your own, in the US, you have be a designer with a resale license, and meet with a fabric sales rep. You don't get this many, but you can go through what the sales rep has and pick some. Some fabric companies give them to customers for free, some you have to pay. I don't know how the process works in other countries. If you don't have a resale license, or resellers number, you can go to fabric stores and ask them to cut you swatches, or buy small amounts. Some online stores sell swatches. The only one I know of is moodfabrics.com but I think there are others.
