I usually watch KZbin videos at 1,5-2x speed, but I actually watched this whole video at normal speed because it was so interesting and well explained. Thank you!

I definitely would love to watch a video in which you complete the multi illustration. The uncolored illustration is very beautiful, and I can’t wait to see it all done, with hair, and jewelry and all the sparkles.

This has got to be the best tutorial on gouache that I've ever had the pleasure of watching. I learned so much! I'm experienced in handling this media, and I love it. But, I've always had problems blending it and making it look painterly. This might be because, at work, we had to render solely in flats and I never got passed that ... til just now. Incidentally, we used white bottled poster paint for mixing colors; it may not be as opaque as tube paint (unless you let it sit a while to thicken) but it's cheaper. We used bristle brushes to restore dried paint; it works better with large batches. I think I'll watch this at least 3 more times!! Thanks!

Thanks! Yes, I can see how using the poster paint would be more cost efficient for big batches. What do you, if you don't mind me asking?

Usually my gouache paintings look like watercolor but I love watching people use gouache opaque. I have a literal stack of unfinished/scrapped opaque paintings because my blending technique sucks. This cleared up so much

This is fantastic! So in love with the designs in this tutorial...and the illustrated girls are so pretty....it's great that you also explain what kind of brushes we need to use with gouache. I need to learn how to use gouache but I still haven't mastered watercolour. I mostly work with oil paints and acrylics because that's what we use in the art course I'm taking..btw Using a toothpick to mix colour is such a cool hack, I need to remember that.
@zoehongteaches6 жыл бұрын
I think that working with opaque gouache is closer to working with acrylic than watercolor, if you do the whole illustration opaque. Good luck! I love the toothpicks but I think I'm going to get some very small metal sticks so I can have reusable mixing sticks. Maybe kid size chopsticks.

Yes please do finish the football fashion line up. It is my fave! I’m begging you to put up a copy of the line drawing in your Etsy shop. I really want to print it, paint it and put it up in my craft studio!!!

No, I'm not going to put the line drawing up. There are some things I need to keep for myself, in between client work and youtube stuff.

for Opaque Gouache its normal to paint on smooth illustration board, Bristol board for example the the texture in the paper is not a problem

Zoe, I would like to put together an evening gown portfolio for job interviews. Where can I go to see an assortment of them and get ideas of proper layout and standard expectations? I tried behance.net, but I cannot seem to find fashion portfolios.
