I started the first week of the month with 2 vet bills, a hair cut and a big expense for a mother's day gift. I normally would have been super discouraged and it would have thrown off my wole month, but I budgeted for it so I'm still feeling good about May so far!

this semester hasn't been feeling so great and i have found myself with extremely anxiety about money. I really felt that when you said that your emergency fund helped you stay calm and gave you that security about you car accident. I have saved almost 200 reais (BLR) and it reaaaally helped me when unexpected things happened. It's very important to have some money saved even if it's only 50 dollars or something like that because you never know what's going to happen.

Hi Zoe! I love your channel; you've been a tremendous inspiration for me in managing my finances. Over the past year or so, I've been trying to implement budgets and slowly transitioned to the envelope method. It took me some time to convince myself to use cash because of all the benefits of cards-convenience and points-but every statement due date used to give me a mini heart attack, even if I stayed close to my budget. Now that I've switched to using cash for my budget, I feel much more at ease. One thing I struggle with and would like to ask for your opinion and that of the community on your channel is consistency in tracking expenses. I've tried using apps, jotting them down on my phone, and writing them in a notebook, but I tend to stop after a few days. Then I feel guilty and think it's better to wait until the next week or month to start fresh. How do you stay on top of tracking your daily expenses?
@ZoePritchard5 ай бұрын
Hi, that is so great to hear! Here's how I track my expenses: I keep all my receipts in my cash envelopes and once a week I sit down and put them all in the Budget Tracker from the Line. I like that it is not an app on my phone, because it feels more serious when I sit down at my computer to do it. It only takes less than 10 minutes a week!

I was so upset when I was in a car accident due to someone hitting me because I also loved my car and it was almost paid off! I think you should make a video showing your car shopping journey in CA. I just traded my car in and chose to get a new car loan. I wasn’t excited to have a new loan and plan to pay it off within 2 years. I decided it was worth it for a certified pre owned SUV that is also my dream car. I thinking loving your car helps you pay it off and keep it well taken care of.

I don’t know if they have this option in Quebec but here in Southern California where I live, we have some libraries that offer an option to reserve a study room/workspace for up to 2 hours per day for free. That may be a good option for you to get away from home and get some work done.

How are you finding balance or a way with budgeting and taking good care of your mental health. Especially we are facing an economic recession it’s tough finding a job or an extra income while at the same time trying to prioritize our mental health.
@TaylahLouiseBudgets5 ай бұрын
Personally I think the older we get the more financial stress we have because the expectation to have all the money (debt paid off, large savings) increases. I am mentally so fatigued at the moment because we are settling on a plot of land we bought 3 years ago but has taken forever to develop. In order to get our finances approved, our broker told me to pay off my car loan & student loans in full which was $47k I didn’t have. I managed to pull together $27k but have to borrow $20k from my fiancé and will have to pay him back out of my profit off the land. I’m trying to be grateful to be in the position to BUY an asset & to pay off so much debt but the process and having to rely on someone else financially to get through the process is really stressing me out! 😬
