How to easily obtain Crystal Sand for the HW relic

This is the method I used for 2 relics before I had crafting/gathering

Reporting in 2021: Still works. I just did 100 runs and ended up with 21 Amber-encased Vilekin which is roughly a 20% drop rate, give or take. This got me 42 crystal sands. Total time to finish was around 1 hour. Definitely the fastest method I've come across so far, but you'll need to farm the rest of the sand some other way after your allowances run out. Also, I never got more than 1 chest per run. Hope this helps.

I just burned 100 levequests and received 19 Amber-Encased Vilekin, I also did not encounter multiple chests in a single run.

July 2022 - still works! Not so lucky on my end with only a 17% drop rate, but I'm in no rush, so it kinda works out for me. You get more allowances over time. Thanks for the vid!

2020 Highly recommend this, stay on your mount, roam around, theres a spot further out on the leftside, always check there if the treasure spawns, I got 20 out of 100 on my first go, thats a good farm on my books.

19% drop rate on 9.18.21. also you can start and abandon these while mounted now, can even open the chests without dismounting, so the best spot is just flying in the air instead of on that rock

March 14th, 2024. Got 16 but it only really takes like under 30 mins. you dont really have to walk back and forth, flying on a mount around you can still open the chests so going around checking is way faster. After I got used to it I could check all the spots and retry it in like 10 seconds.

RNG was likewise unkind to me: I only got 12 Ambers out of 100 leves. Some advice though that I don't see in any of these videos: You can initiate, abandon and retry levequests while mounted, and you can even open the chest without dismounting. So you can do this entire process without ever once leaving your mount.

Does anyone who has done this comprehensively have a diagram of where the treasure coffers can spawn? I know that there's at least one that can spawn that Zolmation was not aware of (if you view from the bridge, it's just a slight bit down the straight forward path and then to the right, behind the automated enemy). I'm always afraid that I'm missing some treasure coffers just because I don't know where all they spawn.

Terrible, terrible spawn rate. Took me 9 tries to get the first chest. I was aiming for 6 chests only and spent 34 leves to get there. That was 1 chest for 5 1/2 leves. If you don't need the leves for alt jobs and crafters, I guess it's a good source of sands. Otherwise, trading blue scrips is a safer way. (April, 2020 it still works)

I highly recommend the blue scrip route as well. Its so much better. But I found a lot of people (myself included during HW) trying to do this without any crafters leveled and this was my answer to that.
