Zombicide Black Plague: Friends and Foes and No Rest for the Wicked

Let's take a look at two newer expansions for ZBP and ZGH.

The best expansions I have found for this game are the extra Necromancers, using their special rules can completely change a game and how you have to play

I've been trying to find a Zombicide purchase-guide (on a budget) for the Black Plague line (mostly since this one appeals to me more than the others). Between Black Plague, Green Horde, Wulfsburg, Friends and Foes, and No Rest for the Wicked (let alone all the mini expansions) ... it makes it really hard to understand how to go about jumping into this. So, if you could provide some insight as to where to start and which boxes are 'essential', it'd be much appreciated. ^_^

I'm not really sure. Far from an expert on this game. Probably best to ask on BGG, as other people probably know a lot more than I do.

The only essential box to the core experience is Zombicide: Black Plague! If you like it, then start buying the expansions. I own almost everything that has to do with Black Plague and Green Horde that wasn't Kickstarter exclusive, I love the game. Green Horde adds some extra complications but Black Plague is the best version in my opinion. All the other stuff just adds variety and difficulty to the game, buy it once you've played the game a few times and want to spice it up. I really like Wulfsburg and No Rest for the Wicked and then the Deadeye Walkers. It's also a good idea to get a second Necromancer mini or use a proxy, trust me.

How did u eventually build your spawn deck with all the expansions?

I completely agree with you about the missions. They lack any real depth and variety. It would have been VERY easy for the designers to include a few extra tokens, and give each mission it's own style. I'm honestly surprised that sort of feedback didn't arise during gameplay testing. I hope that they thought more about the missions when designing Zombicide invader.

No I gotta sell green horde...too repeditve..kill 12 zombies... respawn 12 zombies..... repeat process 50 times

@@holysmoke8439 that's why adding a bit more flavour like narrative cards or tile special rules would add more to it! I got Black Plague mainly for seeing if I can create something along the lines of more of a dungeon crawl becuase I do like the zombie system. Combining my own ideas and ideas I find online. Like limited searches per rooms using heroquest furniture as tokens to indicate how many times you can. Fatties explode on death dealing 1 dmg to d6 targets on that tile including heroes(I play with 4 heroes so this also a balance thing). Somebody had an idea of Abominations having health points which I quite liked to make them feel like a boss. Got a whole bunch of other ideas too that I'll get around to compiling one day 😂

The hedges and flooded zones actually make a gameplay difference with Green Horde, but I thought it was too much of hassle really, just exeptions to the otherwise straight and easy gameplay of Zombicide.
