16:07 - Page 19 Whenever an "Enter the Horde!" card is drawn, the entire Horde spawns in the indicated Zone the zombie card was drawn for. Such an event ends the Spawn Step / ends the Zombie spawning in the building.

I thought that an enter the horde card stopped any additional spawn points that had not yet activated that turn?

You only add a single zombie when splitting. If you have even number of zombies then you divide them evenly into 2 groups and add none. This rule make the game more interesting. You have to plan in advance how to stop the zombies from splitting.

No I agree with Zee, I don't like that rule, breaks theme, so like Zee I also use that house rule of D2 or D3 even if it's a 3 way split.

Was fun, you all made me laugh! Many rules wrong, missing line of sight on zombie activations, and at different times you used the big one space zones as two zones, then remembered it was one when attacking. But all in all enjoyed your video

Zombie splitting is a silly rule. We house rule it like Zee. And we don't ever use the noise tokens. We just use common sense noise rules. Works fine and is more fun not having to fiddle with the tokens. I like using 3d doors too. Makes it harder to accidentally miss doors.

It's okay rule. Zee just didn't read the whole rule. If you have two zombies, then you spilt the group into 1 and 1. You will never add two zombies. You only add a single zombie if there are an odd number of zombies to start with.

Splitting is 100% fine, with caveats. We use a combination of noise and proximity - the latter only coming into effect when applicable ties occur. Single highest noise zone, the only splitting will ever occur when there are two routes of equal distance to the target zone (this is the base rules). Multiple highest-noise zones, things get goddamned retarded - case in point, you have a runner in the middle of a street equidistant between two groups of survivors (let's say 5 tile street), and then it activates. First action (and keep in mind, this is the base rules) it splits to go one in each direction, then the next action... /each/ of those two runners split again, so you now have two where they started, and one runner two closer to each group, one away from hitting them. With the distance caveat, there'd just be one split at the start (because it's equal distance to both groups), and then at the end you have two runners one square away from each survivor. Far less messy and easy to work with. The distance caveat is simple - if there are multiple high noise sources (accounting for line of sight), go for the closest one, and only split if they're tied. This gets even more ridiculous with wolves, who have three actions per activation. Using the base game logic, you also can ensure abominations never actually get to players (because they can't split, so you choose where they go - even a Wolfbomination will just waste all 3 actions going back and forth with this kind of unfinished rules scheme).

I just meant the part where one splits into two or three into two groups of two, etc. Our group is pretty casual and we lose enough as it is without giving ourselves such an arbitrary disadvantage. The equidistant situation rule is just over thought IMO. Simple is better. We do not hesitant to just decide which way they go and don't worry about it too much.

You've made a few mistakes regarding the "Enter the horde" cards. According to Page 19, when you draw an "Enter the horde" card, you place all the zombies from the horde onto the relevant spawn point and then *STOP* spawning for the rest of that round. Example: You break down the door of a 5-room house, your first room's card calls for two fatties and 1 for the horde. The second room's card calls for two runners and one for the horde. The third room is an "Empty the horde" card. At this point, you place *all* zombies that are in the horde into that room, and then you *STOP* spawning. Rooms #4 and #5 get no zombies.

I miss Sam, and yes a single zombie splitting is dumb. I also use a D6 to determine direction.

Don't really see why they needed the first split, the two heroes where at same distance yes, but they also shared a same path, they could just move the zombie forward, splitting is needed just when the zombie have to be clearly forced to go to two opposite direction

It`s really annoying having "ingame discussions" about movement like the one you had around 35:00 - we had the exact same one yesterday. The rules are not set clearely enough, there is so much interpretation so that the game itself is slowed down and you have the feeling of doing something wrong and losing fun, and some random, unintentional cheating happens. So many people use houserules, it`s a shame. On one hand the game is described as "really simple" but on the other no one knows exactly how to play that game in detail, I really hate hearing the word "houserule".
@seanbester1465
@seanbester1465 6 жыл бұрын
The game was designed to be houseruled, it even says so in the manuals. Some people love it (like me) because it encourages flexibility with certain rules you may not love as well as creativity in designing your own scenarios and rulesets. Others prefer concrete rules and quicker results with zero need for interpretation. To each their own.
@DieNische
@DieNische 6 жыл бұрын
Others would say that the ruleset is not precise enough and the game is not playtested enough. In addition to that one could say that this game is the 4th iteration of almost the same old system without more precise rules. That is really weak design work. But hey - the next Zombicide: Invader is coming and again it will raise millions of dollars. People do not want playtested games - they want production value. Great...or so...
@jgtogi6839

They had several years of playtesting the game and sold millions of copies of the franchise. I think you completely misunderstand the situation. Also, the game is in it's fifth iteration. Seasons 1-3 of the base game plus Black Plague/Green Horde. Clearly a lot of people like the game and keep coming back.

I'm just not Gunna get the game because of that splitting rule. Why On earth wouldn't you just could the spaces. Plus the non intuitive rules( evidence on the constant rules screwing up), and very un-thematic bows. Yep hard pass. I'll stick with Rising Sun as my mini game of choice currently. It's times like these why I remember Why I love Arcadia Quest, and that is probably the best CMON dice rolling game.

Casey Pierson This is a great game and them screwing but rules is not the games fault. Splitting rule is easy to remove and really doesn't gameplay. Try the game before discounting it.
@brunneng38

If you think the splitting rule is stupid, you would've hated the original zombicide- if another player was in a square with zombies and you decided to shoot into that square, you ALWAYS auto hit your fellow player first. So stupid.
