B-movie that we made with friends in the summer of 2017.
The hero girls are played by Robyn and Bela.
This was the first time that either of them had done anything in front of the camera. I think they both did pretty great.
Also - it was not an easy shoot. It was hot and technical and everyone was quickly devoured by mosquitos.
My dear friends Ryan and Melissa did way more work than they should have done for some kids silly summer movie project. They ran sound and hauled equipment around and were just really all around fantastic sports about the whole thing.
I was the zombie. Other than that... my main job was to get little Lucy to do what she was supposed to do. This was not easy and I wanted to murder her several times. Melissa (aka - the lady of infinite patience) would intervene when these situations arose... And so... Lucy lives. For now.
Bela spent about a month constructing two claw "gloves" and a break away claw arm with a hidden blood line. She used a gallon pesticide pump spray jug with a long nozzle for the spray. The blood is black food coloring and purple kool aid.
Robyn really only had one shot to correctly slice the arm in half. The "break away" section of the arm was only about two inches long. She was using a real machete and didn't really have a large margin for error. Bela was worried about the fake arm she had made getting messed up. I was worried about my actual arm being "messed up". It was a lot of pressure to put on Robyn. But she pulled it off like a freaking bad ass.
Anyway...
Big thanks to our friends Robyn, Ryan, and Melissa for being so awesome. This was fun.
