I wish there was a Character Maker. Just imagine making Joel and Ellie(The Last of Us), which mission is to get through Bandits while trying not to get bite from Zombies around. Or making your own types of Zombies. Clickers for example, are very slow zombies. But first of all - they're very tanky to pistols and melees and second - once they hear a gunshot, they will Run after it without stopping for a second. Or just how we've seen in here a Sheriff with Revolver. He looks clearly like Rick Grimes(The Walking Dead) to me. Just need to make his teammates and that's all.

Considering it mostly the Story just goes wherever the Scientist is, its probably assumed that military is deployed and its just dealt out of cameras while the story continues in the secret facility where the scientist was sent off and after that probably some years have passed and Act 4 Starts in an post-apocalyptic world.
