I really wish this was a lot longer. Jack's character is nothing like the characters in all other zombie or survival novels i've read. He's a very unique character, and more realistic. i'd love to read or hear more stories with him character. I think a lot of authors tend to try to make the protagonist likeable to the readers, more than making the character more realistic to the situational setting. Showing how in such extreme situations, people likely would tend to be more selfish, cold, callus and self serving; placing their survival above everything, including niceties, politeness, chivalry and other attributes we see in a safe modern society.
