Make a building look like something ran through the middle: Duplicate the building, and put the two buildings at an angle where the sides facing each other are descending like a ramp in a "V" formation, and but the rubble in the "V" shape. This may make the building look longer, but that won't be something you can really notice if you can't see where the two "halves" would've formerly connected.
