One of the greatest horror comedy movies ever made! When I was a kid watching The Walking Dead I came up with rules and plans for a zombie apocalypse as well. And I can sympathize with Tallahassee about his Twinkie obsession, for me it would be Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

"28 Days Later" (2002) was a pseudo-zombie movie where the infected were not technically dead, but were so enraged they could run including "Dawn of the Dead " (2004). It kind of started a trend of running zombies . Traditional zombies movies had slow shuffling zombies that were actual dead flesh that was decomposing and would eventually fall apart.

28 Days Later is a zombie movie, not just pseudo. Conforms to the genre conventions for one, and for two zombies are merely automatons, they don't need to be dead (zombie is a voodoo term that equates to human automaton, the living dead are 'revenant', and it's thanks to Romero creating the 'zombie film' genre that we conflate the two concepts into one)

The concept of a ravenous corpse returning to life to feast on the living pre-dates acquisition of the term 'zombie', and has been described fairly consistently by the term 'revenant' Regardless of which, the genre conventions established by Romero are what we think of when we picture a 'zombie movie', and 28 Days Later, The Last Of Us, and a bunch of other media that don't feature revenants, still fit the bill =)

Fun fact. The amusement park in the movie is really Wild Adventures in Valdosta, Ga. It’s my hometown and most of the movie was filmed there. Woody would go play football with the college students on the main campus yard during filming. The factory where they met the girls is the old Crackin Good factory I had to ride by on the bus every day to my middle school

Zombieland is brilliant, has one of the best openings I’ve ever seen. It’s just such a good movie and easily one of the best zombie movies out there. I love how the film is made, the chemistry the cast had with each other was brilliant. I think my favourite moments are Bull Murray’s death, it’s sad but fucking funny at the same time, the scene where Tallahassee reveals Bud is actually his son, that breaks me every time and when he finally gets his Twinkie
