I love everyone in this movie, but the real life hero is Rick Moranis. After his wife died, he didn't hire a nanny to take care of his kids and keep acting. He walked away from acting to live off what he made and raise his family as a full time dad, away from Hollywood. I admire him so much for that.

Bill Murray made a few of these comedies in the 80s where he’s basically playing himself. ”Stripes” from 1981 is another hilarious one where he plays this character and Harold Ramis again plays the straight man sidekick. Even in Tootsie, where he's supposed to be the straight man to Dustin Hoffman's crossdressing struggling actor, he steals all the scenes he's in.

Thie converted Ghostbusters firehouse is a real ,functioning FDNY firehouse located in Tribeca, several blocks north of the World Trade Centre. The cast held their "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" reunion interview to promote the 2021 film. You can see FDNY firefighters in the background. The scene where account Louis Tully is running in Central Park and is attacked by the demon is Tavern On the Green restaurant. The diners ,only momentarily distracted by the commotion, is a joke about New Yorkers and their reputation for being unphased by crazy things happening in the city.

@@justindenney-hall5875 Yes, I believe Murphy turned the role down to do "Beverly Hills Cop" instead. And, from what I've heard, Winston's character was considerably diminished as a result; he was apparently originally supposed to be involved with the other 3 from the start. Even so, you can definitely still hear Eddie saying some of Winston's lines, particularly "That's one big Twinkie," "I've seen shit that'll turn you white," "Ray, the next time someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES," and "I love this town!"

That armchair scene was a big deal when the movie originally came out. Not for the reason it creeped you out, but because of the areas on Sigourney's upper body that was restrained by the Zuul...mainly her chest. Depending on what version you see on Network TV or Basic Cable & Satellite, the breast parts are not shown or kind of blurred out...or it's fully shown. Yea...that entire scene is very creepy from the beginning when she sees the other Zuul/The Keymaster in that door and she gets dragged into to the portal...yea...that is creepy

I was about 5 the first time i watched that movie on a VHS in the early 1990s. The scene in front of Dana's building where the ground is crumbling made such an impression on me i thought that whenever there are black or deep gray clouds, that means there is gonna be an earthquake. So naturally when about a week later a big summer thunderstorm started to appear and the clouds were almost completely black i ran to my grandma with the fear that there is gonna be an earthquake. Got really relieved when this didn't happen. Went on to rewatch that movie on a VHS regularly until my teen years. Saw i probably more than 1000 times and still love it and never skip it if i catch it by accident on some channel.
