As a fan film, I have to be honest. It's pretty boring, and unoriginal. The acting is awful, which is to be expected so I don't mind that part. But the parts where you should excel, you didn't, even the kills lacked anything interesting. It was horribly edited. Way too many jump cuts. Also, what is with all the music fade outs, just stick to a score. The person playing Michael did a pretty good job though, although that long hair, lol. The mask was decent, but again it's a fan film so I won't critique that too hard. Sorry to be so harsh, but you can't get better without feedback.

So to start off, I'd like to say that you really don't like or take criticism. How can I tell, because I gave a list of things you could've fixed for this film from the Chucky fan film and you didn't even bother to use it. In addition, on your Instagram story you said that you don't want to listen to the criticism you were getting. Do you think you are better than everyone else not listening to it, because if so tell me know so that I know not to waste my time trying to help you improve your work by giving you useful advice. You make it tend to make it sound like you are doing a lot of hard work, but in reality you just come out looking very cocky and pretentious because of the actual work you are showing me. I'm not going to go into anymore detail about this because I would just be wasting my fingers knowing you'll just look over it like it's nothing, and deleting this would just prove my point even further. So if you are ready to suck it up and take some actual advice and criticism for once I would be happy to tell you what went wrong and what you can do better to improve from what I've seen.
@JaceElton5 жыл бұрын
Why would I delete this comment? I look at all criticism, I don’t have to use it if I dont want to. If you want a film to look like how you want it then go make one, don’t expect others to make the films you want to see. I don’t think I’m better and I’m not arrogant, I’m just confident in my vision. I don’t care about criticism and I don’t care about praise. Sure praise is good but I’m indifferent to it most of the time as well. If you want a Halloween film done your way then go make it. You’re the one that’s talking like you think you’re better and I need to take your advice because you’re the “ film expert”.
@JaceElton5 жыл бұрын
I understand your criticism for chucky, but that’s for chucky, not Halloween. Two completely different type of films. It’s like criticizing chris Nolan on Batman and expecting him to fix those problems in Dunkirk. Two different films
@antigon55425 жыл бұрын
@@JaceElton Okay, thank you for your time to look at them, but the fact is that you don't use if any very little of the criticism you are given. There is a difference between criticism that is designed to be opinionated like rotten tomatoes and such, and there are criticism that is designed to help you like now and when you show your film to your friends or relatives in the industry. 2/3 of the critical comments on this video are in some way constructive criticism with one being more biased and the other critiquing the path of movies of Halloween instead of this film itself. There also is a difference between how you want a film to look and how a film should look technically. For example, and I mentioned this in Chucky, you use auto exposure for your shots. Do you know what that does to your shots, it breaks lighting continuity or continuity in general because either you'll walk into an over exposed environment which will dip to somewhat normal or you'll have a somewhat normal shot and it'll under expose. Perfect way to point that out is when Michael is going to kill the two girls at the house and I will say as my opinion I liked the idea of a one shot. When Michael is going to the door the light on his right is overexposed and the whole room inside is overexposed until he comes inside, which is somewhat at the right exposure. Then when the girl backs up into him, and it becomes underexposed to the point where you can't see the girls face or body well and won't be able to make out her reactions.
@antigon55425 жыл бұрын
Give me a sec before you respond because I wanted to break this into two paragraphs so it won't be one paragraph
@antigon55425 жыл бұрын
"I don't care about criticism and I don't care about praise." Really, because on your Instagram story you thanked the praise you were getting and shunned the hate aka the criticism. So in reality it just sounds like you think you are better just by your actions alone even if you may think you are not. That's good that you are confident in your vision and I respect that because not too many people are, but that doesn't mean you don't appear overconfident in what you are giving us. It is also proving my point further that you are saying that you are "indifferent" to praise, meaning you don't really care about even though you publicize that you do. I may be talking like I'm better than you because maybe I am by a slim margin, but that is only because I have taken many film, editing, and screenwriting courses that have honed my skills as a filmmaker and can see the mistakes you are making with your films. No, it's not like I'm criticizing two different films because most of my criticism from Chucky applies to this film as well. If you look back at what I said I talked a lot about exposure, shakiness, acting, etc. Is that really the reason you didn't use my criticism, because you thought it only applied to that film?
