Did the infection debuff have any in-game consquences other than the visual issue? Was there a cure for it?

Newb Tarkov question. I see Pest almost never picks up any weapon components. Is it just because he's on Hardcore or are they typically not worth it overall?

Some of them are good to hold on to if you can't get them from traders specifically because of the Gunsmith questline. Some weapon parts you wont get access to until higher level traders (especially if you don't have flea market access like in hardcore). Otherwise you really dont have much reason to hold onto weapon parts unless they sell well since you can buy most of the parts you'll ever need from vendors.

If you know which ones are good, hang onto those, or sell them on flea. Pest doesn’t do a lot of weapon customization in HC so he usually doesn’t bother. Personally weapon customization is my favorite part of the game so I horde weapon attachments and components

If you can find a good position the kill tasks are easy. Trying to quest has become almost impossible at times.

The only way this event should've lasted longer than 1-2 days is if we could opt-out for PvE, or at least have some maps unaffected.

The zombies might be good for lots of kills back to back, but it otherwise has made the actual game of Tarkov unplayable in my opinion. With zombies spawned in every single map, cannot focus on any other tasks right now... this is especially true in in PvE it seems, as you are the only living thing in the map and they target and chase you endlessly from half way across the map, if not further (which is worse than the goons spotting you from super far away, at least there you know where to expect them from) - leading to situations of 14+ zombies piled up on you, then you kill all them, and another 20+ spawn in out of thin air.... literally cannot play the actual game that I otherwise love and paid to play, it is fundamentally just a different game right now... with dozens of good to amazing zombie games out there to play, fundamentally changing this game like this - especially when they have not even optimized the game for and fixed countless bugs/glitches/cheaters and gotten to point of 1.0 release yet - was an awful idea overall I believe. Would have been amazing to keep it contained to a free and open Labs map -- "yes, Labs is free to enter now!... but be careful, there are zombies afoot", would have been really cool for a Halloween event and a couple new optional tasks for those who wish to take on the challenge... but it feels as though they took away any choice whatsoever, and rammed a game I did not download/pay for down my throat and offered a few QoL things to make it seem nice before you load into a raid as a compromise?.... BSG, keep up the cool QoL stuff, and bug fixes, and optimization of each map so FPS is stable... otherwise, stop re-inventing the game and forcing it on people saying essentially, "either play this entirely new game, or do not play at all" -- really poor decision for so many reasons, not least of which from a loyalty and marketing/financial standpoint for a gaming company that wants to make a full 1.0 release in the very near future, supposedly....

The zombies idea is great, not executed well I agree with you 100%, but you have to remember this BSGs first time doing this. A lot of people coom too early their first time with a girl. BSG just coomed too hard and made insane and buggy zombies. I get it Tarkov is like crack, I need my fix too. But I'm looking at it in a more positive way, maybe in the future if this Halloween event is successful, what's to stop them from having separate fully fleshed out zombie servers after 1.0? It would be like getting 3 games in one. Zombie Tarkov, PVP Tarkov and PVE Tarkov. After 1.0 comes out people are going to miss these random events. So personally I want them to test out as many goofy ideas as they can, and bring them to 1.0. Because who knows if they'll keep on doing things after 1.0 drops. This is all testing and we paid to play the beta version of the game, not the 100% release and almost no bugs version of the game. So if the game is a little unplayable during testing, I'm fine with it. If that means BSG can give us really cool crap for 1.0 I'm all for it. I mean can you imagine bringing in a yellow flare and mortaring a hoard of zombies?
