I’m 62 now. Call me old, but I grew up with the BEST music. It’s obvious that you groove on the Hammond organ in a song, and rightly so. Check out ‘Whiter Shade Of Pale’ by Procol Harum, and ‘House Of The Rising Sun’ by The Animals. You won’t be disappointed! Make sure when searching you type original version. There is a phenomenal version of ‘Whiter Shade Of Pale’ recorded at an outdoor concert in Denmark several years ago, and performed with a symphony orchestra that I personally love even more. Gary Brooker’s voice (then in his 60’s in 2006) has aged like a fine wine in this video (even better than the original.) He’s incredible, and the choir, organ, and strings just float you along in an amazing journey. If you want the 60’s vibe, you’ll want the original.

"Time of the Season" is a song by the British rock band the Zombies, featured on their 1968 album Odessey and Oracle. It was written by keyboard player Rod Argent and recorded at Abbey Road Studios in August 1967. Over a year after its original release, the track became a surprise hit in the United States, rising to number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Cashbox chart, and has become one of the Zombies' most popular and recognizable songs.

Abracadabra 303, I just stumbled upon your channel today. I grew up with this music. This Zombies song was 1968. I was 16 from Shreveport, Louisiana, but shipped out to Arizona for school. Not that that necessarily means anything other than that I was exposed to a lot of different musical styles during that time. Your perspectives (and I have listened to several today - going for your Doors video right after this) are very cool from someone of your generation who identifies as hiphop, and I would enjoy suggesting other artists to you of that era if you might be interested. Keep exploring as their is a big explosion of sounds and styles yoou can discover from what I believe was the most creative musical era of the past century (roughly 1963 - 1976 or 78).

That organ is everything on this track! Definitely one of the sexiest songs of the late 60s. Growing up during that time, we were weaned on Motown in the early to mid 60s, then my older brother brought this pop music into our house. The sound was so different, yet you could dance to it. You says it the late 60s to mid 70s was the most creative time in popular music across all genres!

I don't think you will be disappointed. To me, the organ was a natural progression for rock and roll. In the 50's, 60's and 70's, the piano and then the organ were major parts of rock music. In the fifties, there was first and foremost Little Richard on piano driving the growth of the new genre, rock and roll. He described it this way "Rhythm and blues had a baby and they named it rock and roll." His classics like Long Tall Sally, Lucile, Tutti Frutti, and more influenced many rock musicians. He is one of the early artists who laid the foundation for the rock explosion of the 60's and 70's.
