That space shoot 'em up game on the Commodore 64 reminds me of the legendary classic fantasy game SORCERY. Also, known as SORCERY+ on the Amiga. The game seems as challenging as DAN DARE I-III. The music 🎵🎶 sounds cool 😺👍🕹️.

I always thought the little space-craft he flies was reminiscent of Dan Dare II as well! Hehe... both super difficult games 😇🕹️👌

I agree, it definitely pulled me right into buying this game as a kid - I wasn't disappointed at the time.... yet retrospectively, this game is majorly tough! 😇🕹️👌

I gave this a quick try and I wasn't really crazy about the gameplay either. I kind of wish there was more of a visual feedback when you hit an enemy. The graphics and music aren't bad, though. I just recovered from my laser eye surgery so I haven't been on the PC much over the last month. Looks like I have quite a backlog of your videos to watch!

I've never come across this one before but the chunky colourful graphics and the surreal alien landscapes would have appealed to me as a kid. One of those games you'd discover in a random pile of tapes or a compilation and play despite not really understanding what was going on.

I enjoyed it as a kid, but I was pretty much pleased with al of the Commodore 64 games at the time as I knew it'd be another week until I could get a new one... so I'd always put plenty of time into games back then. Modern gamers don't give games much 'chance' and they usually uninstall them after 2 minutes of play hehe 😇🕹️👌

@@CheekyCommodoreGamer lifelong teetotaler, so it's been one looonnng dry January, though if you were at my place, it might be tough to believe, considering a huge swath of my apartment's floor space is taken up with bottles of alcohol. (I get it free from work and it is great as bartering tools.) That said, tell me the BIG THUMBS UP at least got an eye roll.

There will always be a game which is slated publicly but is loved by some individuals... I have games like that, which were usually unpopular with reviewers but still I had a lot of love and admiration for - so many nostalgic titles for the Commodore 64, it's really difficult to 'hate' any of them, truly 😇🕹️👌

Game was actually some kind of adventure, and shooting elements are just an addon for increased difficulty. There was supposedly very elaborate manual, that apparently no one could get their hands on now. This is even weirder because game did get releases for Amstrad and Spectrum beside C-64. There is also no known complete walkthrough of this game for C-64 on the net, although there is Spectrum walkthrough. So, what on a surface looks like a boring and bad game, is actually small mystery 😁

I believe I got quite far into the game as a kid - I had much more patience and perseverance though back then I suppose. But yeah, there is a decent enough story underneath it all... it was just a shame that the enemies seemed very brutal and would sap your energy too quickly 😇🕹️👌

@@CheekyCommodoreGamer I believe that this particular game was made for somewhat older audience, 14+ years. Especially since you had to type in commands into computer in the game in order to work. Probably was not marketed as such.

The concept was there and the exploration aspect is great... but its just the programming of the enemies - they 'stick to you' like glue which was a real pain in the backside. Had the enemies had more intelligence with the way they moved, it could have been a superb game this 😇🕹️👌

I never played this, and I don't plan to. Just watching the video, I can tell it would piss me off. Not being able to shoot all the time, and even when you CAN shoot, your shots don't seem to be doing any damage, plus it being impossible to avoid being damaged by the enemies, are all things I hate.

The game looked like it was being developed to be something different but ended up being "I don't know what I am today kinda game" The backgrounds make no sense, the bad guys, robots, aliens or whatever they are look generic.. The background one minute looks like it could be on another planet then it looks like you are on earth on the next screen.. Honestly I don't think I'll bother giving it a whirl.

Had potential, but was too tricky to get anywhere without being constantly hounded by the 'homing' aliens and robots, who seem to want to stick to you like glue... sapping your health 😇🕹️👌
