*QUESTION OF THE EPISODE:* What is the funniest or silliest thing you've ever heard at a zoo? Going to over 50 zoos, theme parks, aquariums and more, you're bound to hear something that'll trigger an eye roll. So much so, I have to listen to music when I visit zoos anymore. I've heard pottos be mistaken as bats, tapirs as bears, and probably around 100 other similar comments. However... nothing will ever beat the time in St. Louis when I heard SIX consecutive full grown adults refer to painted dogs as prairie dogs. *FULL SPECIES LIST:* 1. Bald Eagle 2. Not silly but funny: I was in Pairi Daiza, wearing my totally awesome raccoon t-shirt (my fav animal) and at the lions a little girl screamed: "raccoon!" Her tiny fingers were'nt pointed to the magnificent African cats down the rocks, but towards my shirt and it made my day even better (it was already SUPER, because Pairi Daiza is like my paradise on Earth)

It was mainly just stupid tbh, but I live in the UK and I went to one of the most notable zoos here called Whipsnade just outside of a town called Luton, and we were looking at the Cheetahs in their home habitat and a service dog was there with some random lady and the the dog wouldn't stop barking at the Cheetah and the Cheetah ran at the dog hit its head on the glass and smashed it and the lady said to the keeper near by "You need to keep ur cat undercontrol" I was disgusted with her but that's what you get when you go to Luton.

Among my many favorites are "mommy look at the penguin!" "no honey, that's a bird" about a puffin, someone calling penguins otters, sea lions stingrays, and of course the countless tigers called lions. Probably my favorite was someone trying to convince their girlfriend that a klipspringers scent glands were it's second "nose holes" tho.

I live about 30 minutes east of this zoo, and have been visiting almost every year since I was a small child. You have no idea how big a deal this area of the zoo was, especially having known of it being in the works for over a decade. Glad you covered it!

The silliest thing at a zoo that I’ve heard was when I was at the Reid Park Zoo in Tuscon,Arizona. My family and I finished looking at the Zebras and ostriches, and as we walked away,I heard some grunting. I came back to see what the noise was,and it was the zebras chasing each other, while the ostriches ran around!

The silliest thing I have ever heard at a zoo was at Sea Lion Sound at the St.Louis zoo. I kid was looking at a harbor seal and saying it was a leopard seal I could him it was a harbor seal. He looked and me and then continued to shout that it was a leopard seal. I got so excited when I saw that the next video has a hammerhead shark.

I’ve been going to that zoo all my life and it has been one of my favorite zoos of all time!! I was an intern zookeeper working with the elephants and education animals and it was great! I had anticipated the California Trail ever since it was built and was even there on the grand opening ceremony!! THANK YOU for visiting our zoo!! Btw you should check out Fresno Chaffee Zoo with their new exhibit Kingdoms of Asia. I’ve got some video footage if you want to use it

This zoo is what I would consider to be my "home zoo," I grew up going to it and when I go visit my parents I try to make a trip out to the OZ. They have an awesome social media team, they are super transparent and informative. What I love is that all the animals are treated as individuals, so we the public get to know their names and personalities. Some things I'd love to add to your video, just because I'm a huge fan of this zoo - their previous lions were rescued from someone who owned them illegally as cubs, their current lions are brothers from a captive breeding at another AZA zoo. The tigers were likely born at Tiger King's facility and then ended up at a roadside zoo that closed, and were rescued only a few years ago, they are both seniors and one is actually a liger. Every year the zoo breeds their bison herd, and then every year half of the bison are sent to the reservation they partner with to reintroduce them to the area. What's interesting is that instead of only sending the juveniles, since bison are very bonded to their mothers even as adults, they send mother and baby together. Also, the wolves came from a pair that was recommended for breeding by the SSP and were brought together when California Trail opened. They had four cubs in one litter and then no more breeding was allowed. The father has since passed, but the plan was always to create a natural pack by having a family unit. And finally, the jaguars are under a breeding recommendation currently and the zoo is hoping for cubs sometime this year.

I completely agree with you on that but two suggestions I would make is the great northwest section of the Oregon zoo and Elephant lands also at the Oregon zoo and I would suggest the great northwest section because they have a unique exhibit called eagle canyon where free flight bald eagles share an exhibit with salmon but I would also suggest the great northwest section because of their exhibit called condors of the Columbia which is home to California condors.

Zoo Tours Rope Drop! I've heard alot about about the Oakland Park Zoo from others, my friend Natalia mentioned that its the only other zoo along with San Diego that displays Bornean Sun Bears. As for this video, this almost reminds me of The Wilds for some reason, I guess it has to do with the grassy fields. Still, its always nice to hear about organizations that help to preserve and make conservation success stories with the animals of their homelands, it's a good reminder that saving amazing wildlife can start right in our own backyards. I cant wait to see what the next tour will be in this zoo, and I'll be seeing you next time in the sunshine state!

You know how the Hippos name has Amphibius in it? Well, some girl thought that meant it was actually an amphibian, and they were related to frogs. She also thought it meant they could breathe underwater. Her friend tried to tell her she doesn't think that's what it means, but she was dead set on hippos actually being related to amphibians like frogs...

For silly, it's a combo of things that had a massive earworm to it. When Cincy added all of their "Zoo Keys" thing with electronic key card things that you could plug in to hear a little jingle about whichever animal or thing it was connected to. Unfortunately, if they glitched, each would play the even older Zoo! Zoo! Zoo! theme, and there was this kid who kept screwing with them to lock them into repeating that over and over again where he'd do it so it would lock in and go sit nearby...the maintenance people would show up and fix it, then the kid would set it off again. I don't know what he was doing with it, but if anyone else used it, the normal info jingle would play. But it was kind of funny to see the mess, especially when the maintenance guy figured out what was going on and just started singing along which confused the kid...

"The silliest thing I've heard in a zoo"?... When a guest expressed their concerns over whether or not the zoo still served the carnivores (specifically the felids) meat. The zookeeper handy very patiently explained how the cats were only used to a carnivorous diet, that tofu wouldn't do. This didn't stop the guest from their last question -- "Can't you make the tofu look like meat for them?" God bless the keeper when they moved on from that chat. Their day was busy as it was. - take care, slainte chugat

Unfortunately, not. While I did have time to see everything, thanks to some animals on the California Trail not cooperating early in the day, it took a lot of time going up and back and I didn't actually have time to film everything else at the zoo. Regardless, I wouldn't have been too kind with my review.

I have heard a few things at the Brookfield Zoo that are pretty silly, but none of them compare to this one. A few years ago my brother and I were looking at the macaws, and this lady with her child walked into aviary and the lady pointed and said “look at the pelicans”. My brother and I tried so hard not to laugh, and we officially cracked when the lady left. Brookfield Zoo does have pelicans, but they can only be seen outside in warm weather. The macaws are in an indoor building. I wanted to correct her, but that sentence caught me off so much I did not know what to think.

A guy in a wheelchair was waiting to see polar bears at Brookfield Zoo. Being in a wheelchair the most common thing you see in a zoo is other people's hind ends. So, he waited patiently for people to move on so he could move up and see the bears. A little girl literally vaulted over him into the spot. He said something quietly that rhymes with trucking rich. The father overheard, though, and spun with a raised fist, saw it was the guy in the wheelchair, and realized the optics of the situatuon and quickly descalated. Later on we were in the Living Coast exhibit and the same guy was watching the moon jellies when two children ran over and literally began climbing on him and his wheelchair screaming in his ear "Is that even real???!!!" To which he forcefully replied, "No."

The Watchtower, January 2018 See the Difference in People 15 Many who formerly displayed such animalistic qualities have changed for the better. This transformation was beautifully foretold in a Bible prophecy. (Read Isaiah 11:6, 7.) There we read about wild animals, such as wolves and lions, that live in peace with domestic animals, such as lambs and calves. Notice that this tranquil state of affairs will prevail “because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah.” (Isa. 11:9) Since animals cannot learn about Jehovah, the spiritual fulfillment of this prophecy applies to people. 16 There are many who were once as fierce as wolves but who now live in peace with others. You can read some of their experiences in the series “The Bible Changes Lives,”. Those who have come to know and serve Jehovah are not like those who have an appearance of godliness but prove false to its power, who behave as if they worship God but belie that claim by their conduct. Rather, formerly fierce people have “put on the new personality that was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty.” (Eph. 4:23, 24) As people learn about God, they see the need to conform to his standards. They are then moved to make changes in their beliefs, attitudes, and conduct. Such changes are not easy but can be made because God’s spirit will help those who sincerely desire to do God’s will.
