Thanks that was very helpful, but I have a question, if you could help by answering please! why the power adapter doesn't give a clean sound like with the battery? Could advise an adapter that doesn't make a noise ?
@S-LAB11 ай бұрын
I am not sure. In my case you are hearing a decent humming noise - rattle noise or how to call it, that might be because of other gear inside the same power grid, or because of lack of grounding? I remember a similar problem with this device and some similar ones. Maybe most simple solution is to keep using batteries or even better: rechargeable ones - or try to fix the grounding-aspect inside your installation 👍

My Zoom A1X has just arrived with a power adaptor and with the Quick Setup Guide. I've only played electro/acoustic through an amp before and have never used an effects pedal. The quick setup guide just confused me so I went to the online manual .... and was overwhelmed by the (lack of clarity) I got from attempting to follow the guide (which seemed to assume a lot of prior knowledge). I have watched your video once and still have a lot of questions about how to setup and operate this device. But your clear explanations and demonstrations having given me a starting point to explore the (boggling) array of options that are on offer. Looking forward to any future videos you may produce on setting up for live performance, especially if you are changing / using multiple instruments in your set. Thanks so much for taking the time to produce and post this video, it will save me a lot of time getting to know the product and programming it to do my bidding

@S-LAB2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, switching on and off works only by injecting or pulling out the plug into the input jack. Delay time you can change by entering stomp mode, then selecting your desired delay (->edit), then changing TIME. Values are available between 1 ms and 3 s, after the 3s value you can also synchronize the delay to notation values in relation with the pre-selected BPM, that is to be found under setting > setup > BPM

QUESTION: Zoom claims that the Output jack can be used for both "line out" and headphones. I cannot find a "headphones" setting in the manual that would allow the unit to know which output level I want. Does this unit properly support headphones with a correct volume level [as opposed to simply claiming that you can just plug a headphone into a "line out"], and if so how does it know that headphones are connected? Please answer only if you've tried this. Thanks!
@S-LAB3 жыл бұрын
I used it both ways with no issues 👍
@DaveZiffer3 жыл бұрын
@@S-LAB So when you plug in a headphone, you get a reasonable volume? In my current pedals, when I connect a headphone to the "output" jack the volume is ridiculously low; this is because much more power is required to drive a [low impedance] headphone than to drive the [high impedance] "Input" jack on guitar amps. So in order to properly drive both, the A1 must effectively attach a different circuit depending on what's plugged into it. If you are getting reasonable volume, do you have any idea how the A1 "knows" that you have a headphone attached? Is there some way that you explicitly tell it, or does it just seem to work?

There are no stupid questions. If you want to work with this machine, you just need a cable to connect it with a guitar, that's it for the input. For the output you need the same type of cable to connect it to any kind of speaker. By the way, also there is an aux-in, with which you can put in a stereo signal from any kind of player or cell phone Etc. The other video which I linked inside this video explains all in and outputs, it is an unboxing video. Hi Bui, in the following other video all connectors are being explained: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nV7baX9rhdCNqdE You can use the 6,5 mm jack to output your signal for recording into any external recorder. @@S-LAB Thanks so much. You just saved me a bunch of time, especially since stores no longer seem to have stuff on display where it can be tried. The primary difference between rackmount units (like my old Digitech GSP 1101) and foot units is that the rackmount units can handle this - they have parallel processing units that somehow keep the old patch running while you start the new patch. I was hoping that the increased miniaturization of processors would have allowed some pedal maker by now to have this capability, but I'm not finding any. Given that this is a really nice feature that people pay many $$ to get and that it is a prime differentiator between premium & non-premium products, it would be nice to see reviewers cover this topic more.
@DaveZiffer3 жыл бұрын
@@S-LAB It seems ironic that this unit would have "tail on" options for both reverb and delay, and yet be unable to switch smoothly between patches. The instruction manual explains that the "tail" preserves the decay of previous playing after the effect has been "turned off". Other than switching patches, how would they expect me to be turning off an effect without switching patches? I guess I might have a footswitch dedicated to this - but switching patches seems like a more likely way to change one's reverb & delay settings. Thanks again!

Thanks for posting this but you really should use the correct terminology when explaining the features. It can be confusing enough but it becomes more confusing when you use the wrong terminology. For example, there is no such thing as "stomp box effects." Stomp box is a mode. It shows what effects are available to turn on or off and adjust. Groups of effects, whether pre-set or created by the user are called patches. (You never even mentioned patches.) I would suggest that you understand the terminology well before you make a video so you don't confuse the viewer. Also, a HUGE thing that you didn't mention at all is Zoom Guitar Lab, the free application that allows you to do far more than you can with the the A1X Four alone although there is some overlap. In fact, that's where I create patches and make adjustments the vast majority of the time. And you have to use the Guitar Lab to delete and add new effects, etc., to the A1X Four. It's a free download so there's really no excuse to not even mention it. You can't even do some of the most important things with the A1X Four without using Zoom Guitar Lab. Maybe you should make another video about the lab but, if you do, please use the proper terminology so everyone is on the same page.
@S-LAB5 жыл бұрын
Hey Bob, thanks for your comment, I will reflect on your wise advice and furthermore try to improve my terminology too. And sorry, neither am I an expert on Guitars, nor on Guitar Effects, nor on the English language, since it is not my mother tongue.
