Great suggestion. I would love to, but I need a licensed account with someone else on the account. But since you brought it up, the steps would be Sign in to the Zoom web portal. Click *Meetings* , and select *Schedule A Meeting* . In the Alternative Host field, enter the alternative host's email address. Click *Save* to finish. The alternative host will now receive an email informing them that they have been added as an alternative host, as long as they have not disabled this email notification in the Zoom web portal. This only works for this meeting. Do this for all meetings. Zoom has a feature called _Scheduling Priviledges_ . That makes someone the alternative host for all your meetings.

Very well done. Can you add co-hosts BEFORE a zoom meeting? Can you designate another (or several others) with the capability of being a host prior top the meeting? We have recurring meetings each week and need to allow anyone in the group to host a meeting (initiate it) when the original host becomes unable to make the meeting.

Do you have to download Zoom and use a free plan in order to become a co-host, or even to claim host? Or is it possible for someone without the software just to open a zoom link and join with same opportunities as anyone else with or without zoom installment of the host and owner has made everything open? I own a corporate license and I'm sharing my personal room on a static basis, the permanent invite link is pinned to our Slack channel so anyone can open Zoom whenever they want AND they are free to claim host with the shared host key so they can create and open breakout rooms. However, when new people join the Slack channel I never know if they have the Zoom software installed or not, or if they are joining trough the browser - or if this matter at all in terms of being able to open breakout rooms and claiming host with the shared host key etc. I wanna make sure anyone are able to operate on the same level on my personal room independently of having installed Zoom on a free plan or not. And just to emphasize: They are ONLY using my personal room that I have trough the enterprise Zoom license that the company have.

HI, So i have a weird question. so i work for a town and we have town meetings once a month. the town laptop we just put zoom live. so my question is if the person on the town laptop makes me host because they are not good on zoom can i then activate youtube live? youtube live is only set up on the town laptop and town acct not my personal laptop. But if the town starts the meeting on there laptop and then gives me host on my personal laptop on my personal zoom acct can i hit youtube live and have it work?

I suggest testing that. That is a great question. You would definitely need the Town's KZbin credentials. I think you would have to be on the same account as the Town.

Thank you very much for this video. Can a co-host push the button ‘Close All Rooms’? If yes, can we disable it somehow? We are going to organize a zoom meeting with around 1000 participants and 40 co-hosts. This with 13 break-out rooms. The participants need to decide by themselves which room they want to join.

Nik, co-host can select Close All Rooms. You can't disable it for the co-hosts. The host or co-host can allow participants to decide what room they want to join. I'd suggest only make people co-host that know how to manage and host a zoom meeting and tell them not to close all break-out rooms. Possible even do a walk-through meeting with them - which I have done before.

That is always a paid account and it has to be a Business account. Two users on a Pro Zoom account can't use alternative host.

Lauren, that is correct. Alternative host start the meeting and they have *host* controls. A few examples for using alternative host I'm hosting a meeting and enable the waiting room. I can't make the meeting. Now, the meeting can't even happen. #2) We were going to use breakout rooms. Now that can't happen. #3) No one can record the meeting if I don't join and there is no alternative host.

Co-host do have special chat privileges in a Zoom meeting. You can set up the chat so chats are only seen by the host and co-host and participants can't chat with each other.

But I always have to leave my room and meet them in main session first to make this happen, the go back to the breakout room I was in

You are OK. Hosts can't see private chats between participants. That would defeat the purpose of a private chat.

The message you receive is correct since Zoom doesn't know you are two people, it only see one account.
