Sorry I did not fully understand. For missing patches, you could try a factory reset. G1x four firmware can be downloaded from here for windows pc: zoomcorp.com/documents/50/G1X_FOUR_v2.00_Win_E.zip

AFAIK, the firmware update won't add/remove any of the effects. To get new effects into the unit, you should use the Guitar Lab software.

Just "g1" is a different product. I hope you are referring to zoom g1 four or g1x four shown in the video. You have to download "zoom guitar lab" and install it on your pc/Mac. Check this link for an installer - zoomcorp.com/en/jp/news/guitarlab_update/. After installation is done, you have to connect the device to the PC via a usb cable (which supports data transfer) . This will automatically install the zoom drivers. Additional effects like metalWRLD, OctFuzz etc can be added to your device using the software. Remember that you may have to remove an effect or two from your device to make space for the new ones. The full effect list is in this pdf - zoomcorp.com/media/documents/E_G1FOUR_FX-list.pdf Some of them are marked with a star indicating that you can download them via guitar lab.

Make sure Zoom drivers are installed, and that you are using a data+power cable, and not just a power cable. Test it by installing Zoom Guitar Lab. It should recognize your device. After this follow the procedure again. In win10, the drivers will be automatically installed when you plug in the zoom, if you are connected to the internet. Try a different USB cable which can transfer data. Some cables only power on the device and that won't work.

@@phamquangtuan1214 Win10 will install Zoom drivers automatically when you connect it via USB. If Guitar Lab is working fine, that means drivers are installed correctly, and nothing more to do.

My zoom g1x four seems to have a really low volume when i use an headphones in my output jack, is this the same with all the g1x 4? or should i get it serviced?

Can you share the model of the headphones you are using? I suspect the headphones impedance value. Some headphones with high values will require a headphone amp.

So, the boat 225 has 16 ohm impedance. And I tried it with my Sony XB55 earphones which also has 16 ohm impedance. It was quite loud. The patch I used was from my other RATM video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHPFlXqvebp2g8k Set patch level at 67, and master level at 50. Another observation is that my Behringer HPM1000 headphones (32 ohm impedance) is slightly less loud than the Sony with the same zoom settings. So try another headphone, and also try another adapter (6.3 to 3.5mm) before getting the Zoom checked.

You don't need batteries for this. It's better to remove the batteries as you will have to connect to the PC to update the firmware. The PC usb port will supply the power. You don't want two different power supplies coming into effect during the update procedure.

You can delete some effects using the zoom guitar lab software. Sort by the "use" column, you will get all the effects which are not part of any patches. Those can be deleted to make space.

Check the cable. Make sure it supports data transfer and not just charging. The firmware for g1x and g1xfour are different, make sure you have the correct files

Not necessary. The firmware memory will be different than the patch memory and will not be overwritten. If you have any custom patches that you do not want to lose, then you can back them up, only as a precaution. You may not need to use it if the update goes through smoothly.

Check the name of the downloaded file. It should match with the the device - G1four or G1xfour. This error usually comes when the file is incorrect.

It looks like the zoom drivers are not installed on the PC. Which version of windows are you using? In win10, the drivers are automatically installed when you plug in the zoom. Try a different USB cable which can transfer data. Some cables only charge the device and that won't work.

Looper pre/post is the main feature that's added in v2.0. And there is a UI change for the rhythm section. That's it.

Patch settings? Like what is stored in 1-0, 1-1 etc? They are not part of the firmware update. But you can find zoom patches on various websites. I hope I understood your question right! If you have a specific request I can try and make one for you.

Hi! Check the firmware file which you downloaded. If you use the "G1" firmware on the "G1X" device, or the "G1X" firmware on the "G1" device - it will show illegal device error. Which device do you have currently?

The instructions are from the official Zoom website. Make sure the cable is good and the environment is stable, so that the cable does not get disconnected by mistake. In case the update fails for any other reason, they have asked to repeat the procedure. Also make sure you download the correct files, g1four v/s g1xfour.

Check the driver files which you have downloaded. If you download the g1four instead of g1xfour, it will throw that error. That's one possible cause.

Check the file which was downloaded for your device. If you have G1 - get G1_FOUR_v2.00_Win_E.zip, if you have G1X - get G1X_FOUR_v2.00_Win_E.zip. If you interchange the files, you can see illegal device error. Also close the 'zoom guitar lab' if it is running.
