Probably not due to the G5n's technology. the G6 is a completely new MultiFX Pedal with completely new Software and Hardware

Hello there, I would like to make a request for the next upgrade of Zoom G6, equipment that I recently purchased to replace my Zoom G1xON. It was a great disappointment to discover that on the G6 it is not possible to link the expression pedal to any effect parameter, as it was possible easily on the G1xON, you cannot even set the limit of a parameter for the effects dedicated to the expression pedal, for example, in the Vibe, despite the fact that one configures the rate at a certain value, pressing the pedal to the bottom exceeds said configured value, making said configuration useless. I ask you to please take this request into consideration, which I suppose must be something that all users have found to be a disadvantage, which overshadows a very good device such as the G6, which has exceptional sound quality. It would be very easy for your engineers to reconfigure the firmware so that the expression pedal can be freely assigned similar to the G1xON. I hope you take my request

I’m still a fan of the G2 series. Too me, they sound better than the G3 or G5. I bought both of those and was so frustrated by the constant lack of DSP. Never experience that problem on the G2. Gimme a G2 with 5 or six buttons to access presets, and IRs. Good to go. And, the G2 series are the easiest multi-effect on the market to program.

I have the Zoom G6, I am hoping to start using it for live performances. I am somewhat confused as to how to things are organized Banks hold patches? Patches are an effect amp chain? having a Bank of Patches one can easily access different changes in one bank during a song? do I have this right? Thanks to all.

Zoom is actually really good at releasing firmware updates for older gear that continues to keep them relevant. A good example is the most recent updates to the Zoom F4 and F8, some of their older field recorders/mixers. Zoom had recently released the F8n which included some really nice features such as improved input limiters and auto-mixing capability. The updates actually added that same functionality to the F4 and F8, which was honestly pretty amazing and made a noticeable improvement to their practical functionality. The Zoom MS-50G has also received a couple updates that practically doubled the amount of effects, amps, and cabinets, all for free. My thought is that the G6 actually features updated emulation algorithms for their effects and amp models, and so the G3n/G5n simply would not have the hardware capability to benefit from those upgrades. Purely my speculation of course, but I think it'd make a lot of sense if that were the case.

Did Zoom downgraded the G6n in the same way they did with the G3n?! (they took out the audio interface feature, wich was avaiable on the very old and small G3, so you need to buy the big one - G5n - if you want usb for recording). Also, the DSP: is it new or the same Zoom ZFX-IV?

So this past Christmas I got the zoom G one on and I’ve absolutely been loving the muff big effect, but I’m curious because on the website it states that you also have a simulation of the MXR distortion what would that be named on the pedal?

The simulation of an MXR distortion+ would be the Dist+ effect.

Yes, you can assign and unassign any effects to any of the 4 switches. Tap and function pedals are hard coded I think. I own the G6. Anyone used the Bluetooth adapter you can get for it? Lmk

I like mine but really shouldn't advertise Bluetooth features since the Handy guitar lab is for the G11 and it won't function at all. It has all of 2 reviews and they're both one star and I know at least half of them would have been zero stars were it allowed.
