Just a quick word of appreciation for a genuinely helpful video. The H2N seems easy to operate and perfect for interviews.

0:28 Alternatively, you can also use the USB port to connect a battery power pack like the ones the people usually use for cellphones. When the power comes from the USB cable, the internal batteries are not used, but when the external power is switched off, the Zoom H2n _should_ automatically switch to the internal batteries, so with with two new batteries and an external power pack you should be able to make a continuous recording of more than a day.

THIS RECORDER IS A LOT MORE COMPLICATED THAN OTHER RECORDERS IVE USED. IM STILL STRUGGLING WITH THIS. SO FAR THIS MANS VIDEO IS THE BEST ONE IVE COME ACROSS SO FAR BUT I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE PLAY WHEEL IS. IF I WAS DOING A VIDEO LIKE THIS, I WOULD TALK SLOW AND GO REAL SLOW, BUT THEN, IM OLD, SO IM PROBABLY SLOWER THAN MOST OTHER PPL.

Some time ago Zoom released a *new firmware version* (3.00). This adds a third recording mode to the existing X/Y and M/S modes: SPATIAL. This can be used for adding surround sound to 360° videos. The software can be downloaded here: www.zoom-na.com/products/field-video-recording/field-recording/zoom-h2n-handy-recorder#downloads

Do you know if this unit is suitable for capturing quality audio for amateur adult videos? Subjects would be about 4 feet away? I'm not very tech-savvy and am wondering if it will pick up the sound like the directional mic I use on my dslr or leave us sounding like we are too far away from the mic.

If the computer has a card reader slot you don't need a USB cable. You can simply put the SD card on the computer and copy or transfer the files.

What am I doing wrong here ? . I record a file and it plays back immediately no problem, can be heard with or without earphones. Switch off. Switch back on . Attempt to playback. Go to Menu. then FILE MENU. , then FOLDER, then FILE. select audio file , press PLAY button in. N0 audio file plays - I get a screen which lists - INFORMATION, NORMALIZE, MARK LIST, STEREO ENCODE, DELETE, DELETE ALL, I have wasted hours trying to solve this problem. Also playback volume is set at 100 but can barely hear it without head phones. HELP !!!

But it gets worse. I also have the Zoom H6 with accocoirs in a nice box. I have used it 6 times at most. I took it out for a production this week and it has become unusable and also unsellable. The entire soft plastic covering has dissolved and lies over it like a sticky layer of honey. When you grab it, you can hardly get the Zoom H6 off your hands. Of course I was not planning on telling that everywhere on the internet. But I did report it properly to Zoom headquarters in Europe. But they simply do not give you a response. So then I warn people everywhere on KZbin that Zoom makes rubbish.
@Robterdammer4 жыл бұрын
Do not use the H2n. This bad device is very sensitive to contact noise. Even lightly touching the cable of your headphones sounds like a drum solo to your ears. When you put it on the table and someone taps against the table leg, you hear an African drum band come into the room ... Not recommended.
@ricardo.schaefermeier4 ай бұрын
Use a tripod and cable button. A table tripod or a normal one used for cameras
@Robterdammer4 ай бұрын
@@ricardo.schaefermeier LOL, I have about 36 different big and small tripods. Nothing works. It is a drama device. The only thing that works is to unplug all the cables during recording (or connect a system with a wireless headset to it). As for a tripod, the only solution is to hang it freely in the air, possibly on a tripod but with a very weak elastic band of 15 cm long so that every tap is absorbed by a weak yo-yo.
@kinaost2 жыл бұрын
As an instruction you’re not showing good knowledge of sound recording when only recording in the left channel. Also, the H2n comes with two AA batteries, not as you say. Some of the other tips were good enough.
