10 years old and still absolutely relevant, both the review and the product. I'm looking to buy my first digital recorder and despite it's age, the H2n still seems to be held in high regards for value and quality. The improvement in audio was stunning when you switched from the Rode shotgun mic to the Zoom. Thanks

This recorder is "the cats balls", its incredible, the sound is absolutely unbelievable. Ive spoken with two sound mixers that work with 100,000$ equipment and they have one of these for their home and mobile recording. This is simply put one of the best damn amazing recorders out there, versatile, and sheer awesome with a capital "Amazing"

Dave,That's got to be one of the best videos I have seen for a while demonstraighting such a small recording device. Zoom make some fantastic products,I can't believe that this is setvatvsuch a low price,I was expecting a lot more,say £400. The editing was seamless between switching from the camera to this,the difference between the mic's was defiantly change for the better

Good little recorder, I had the older H2, postage-stamp size menu screen, fiddly to operate,-but outstanding sound reproduction,bought the Zoom Q3HD recently, making the H2 redundant, ( gave it to a younger Muso), but now I'm thinking of getting this updated H2 also, -but why, oh why, have Zoom stopped supplying the AC adaptor as standard, -making it an accessory?

Well done mate, really appreciate the time you took to make such a detailed reveiw! I'm thinking about getting this little guy for portable recording to capture sounds outside and in the city. Regarding the "Mic Gain" wheel on the side, how many different gain levels are there? because with the old Zoom H2 there were only 3 which didn't give a great deal of flexibility. I would be very grateful if you could reply. Thank you, and great review!

I wonder what levels of pick up are NORMAL. In the manual, most of the illustrations show the audio bars extending for over half of the width of the level meter. As a test, I have set the gain to the maximum 10, and pointed the unit (in MS mode) at a TV set about 2 metres away - the sound that is registering is remaining in the -48 to -32 region only. Is this to be expected, have I made an oversight or may this be a (deaf and) defective H2N ?
@geekanoids13 жыл бұрын
@dimbazzo It would work fine and be a very flexible choice.

I need a help if you can, please. Today I have the Panasonic GH1 with no audio control. In a few day I ll buy the new GH3 with audio control . I have the Rode Video Mic Pro . I wish to pick the H2n to use it as the main audio recorder sending the audio directly to the camera via 3.5 plug . But I dont know if this will be better than using only the Rode Videomic Pro. What do you think ? The zoom h2n mics are good enough to use directly to the camera ? This way I can avoid post syncing . THanks

Whats the best voice recorder you can get for €50-60? I dont really want to spend €100 on a H1 because I wont be using it enough for that. Cheers for any advice. I'll be using it for recording voice while on my motorbike and also as a voice over for video recordings. Cheers.
