Excellent sound quality from the H2n! Really nice soundscape and especially enjoyed the motorcycle passing by your location. Subscribed to your channel and looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks for sharing!

Tip: When using an external mic put the recorder in XY mode to use only that microphone as the 2CH & 4CH will record your external + inbuilt mics.

I had this recorder some years ago, i bought the H4n Pro and later the zoom F6 and sold the H2n, but i really miss it. Someday i'll buy it again. I really liked the 4 channel ambiences we can create with it, they're very useful! Great little recorder! I'm curious if zoom are going to release a H2 Essentials, like they did with the other recorders.

wow, these sound amazing! I get a lot of background noise / buzz. have you tried other wind guards and found this one to be better? mine doesn't seem very effective so I'm considering getting the one you have here.

I saw in your instructions that you recorded in MS mode (120°) throughout. 0:55 Why can MS mode distinguish the change of motorcycle from left to right? Doesn't the side mic only have one channel? Thanks 🙂
@stuff2check Жыл бұрын
It actually has 3 mics there as far as I remember, and you can control the width of recording. I chose 120 degrees which is set by default but you can narrow it down to complete mono manually. Hope this helps!

@@stuff2check It realy confuse me, physically there seems to only four mics in h2n (so only two mics on ms mode), see: 5:45 at kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXi7pXuFhcyjZ80 You can clearly see there are only two lines linked on the side mic. And: 12:10 of kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4awaWxjnaqbgrM Also, according to the wikiepdia (just search "Microphone practice" on it), the side mic is just a figure 8 one channel mic. Therefore, I can only assume that the stereo effect comes from its "Left = Mid + Side, Right = Mid − Side" digital juggling. But even though I've verified on my h2n that it does, I still don't quite understand why Right (mid - side) channel is louder than Left (mid + side) when the motorcycle moves to the right of the h2n. Or more simply, why is (mid - side) greater than (mid + side) at this point? 🙄

I really don’t know 😀 Honestly, I’m not too crazy about what’s inside as long as it gives great quality. Sorry if I couldn’t be helpful!

Thanks! I do miss my H1n sometimes. Feel like I need to buy it again someday 😊 It’s so handy!
@cryptotrader2779 Жыл бұрын
@@stuff2check Sure. The H1n is always with me every day, but the F3 with a pair of LOM Usi mics is also very easy and small to bring everywhere. I prefer really small and quick to use rigs. Your H2n sounds great though.

Thanks! Will check out what you’re talking about. Heard of the F3 but no idea about those mics.

@@stuff2check Hello, curious to know why you miss the H1n sometimes if you have the H2n? Thanks
@stuff2check Жыл бұрын
@@stephanelarocque77 Hi! Because it's lighter and simpler to use :) The H2n needs a bit of a more serious approach with all its functions, and sometimes I miss the simplicity of the H1n.

Amazing sound capture! How did you synch the H2Ns wav file with iPhone 13 Pro video? Sorry dumb questions, trying to learn from you
@stuff2check Жыл бұрын
By the sound waveform diagrams, of course. Or it could be done with one click in Adobe Premiere. Please look for "syncing audio and video in Premiere".

The video shows you were actually recording stereo XY not MS. On my H2n it has MS on screen in mid side mode. The H2n is an excellent recorder, I use the Spatial surround recording mode and feed binaural mics into the line in and have got some great sounding recordings. It's a shame the H2n isn't a 32 bit recorder as that would be the icing on the cake, maybe Zoom will update it in the future?
@stuff2check Жыл бұрын
You're wrong, I was recording in the MS mode. As soon as you press record, those letters MS disappear, and the count starts. I mean I totally couldn't have mixed these settings up as I'm totally familiar with this device now. If it had been the XY mode, I would have made it face the opposite side as that's the way to use it in that case.
@tonrelax2 жыл бұрын
Hello, what microphone sensitivity would you recommend from 1 to 10?)
@stuff2check2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I mostly use 10 as I usually do field recording and don’t really record something too loud like live music. But I can’t recommend anything because I don’t know what your plans are 😀
