They both have their place. This pedal is indispensable for making music on the go but if I'm at my home studio, I'm going to use a higher end Universal Audio reverb pedal.

I bought the first version of this pedal when it was launched. It has been a permanent fixture on my board, mainly providing a variety of eq settings. However the central button failed so instead of buying a straight replacement I bought the new version. Although the sounds are high quality as per the original pedal I am struggling with the screen and the ability to change patches. There is an up and down button on the pedal to change patches but this is impractical for foot use. With a newly designed shell I don’t understand why a pedal controller jack wasn’t added by Zoom. The old pedal showed the chosen patch selected. The new pedal briefly shows the selected patch then changes to show one of the effects included in the patch. This is very frustrating and can’t be changed in the settings. In conclusion, the original version of the pedal is the better product.

But now you could official use MIDI to control the device and change patches!
@drewson2a5124 ай бұрын
@@jonathanenglish9820 The original model allowed for patches to be labelled alphabetically with scrolling access via the main button, so no need for an external midi controller. This feature is missing from the new version of the pedal.
@newignis3 ай бұрын
@@jonathanenglish9820the original can be easily controlled for patch changing and moving into tuner mode via CC74. It’s standard MIDI (via USB though.).

Wow that’s a showstopper. thanks for sharing. Hopefully they will fix it with new firmware. I won’t buy if preset cannot be changed live without a midi controller.

Hi everyone! there's a thing I'm trying to know but I'm not finding it nowhere. Is the pedal recognized as "audio interface" on a PC via the USB port? I mean, connecting the pedal to a PC with a USB cable, will I see a the L+R outs in my system? I need to find this out before buying it... the purpose is using the pedal as audio interface, recording the sound straight from it, without any other sound board. Thanks a lot!!!
@recyclebinladen59032 ай бұрын
No, this pedal cannot be used as an interface. You can only use the usb C port for updating the firmware and for editing the patches.

This or plethora X3 ? For modulation and pitch shifting
@beefysinglecut4 ай бұрын
IMHO, Plethora sounds more modern (Hi-Fi) while Zoom sounds closer to analog (warmer).
@priorwitness3 ай бұрын
For my ears I actually can't stand the way the pitch shifting works on the Plethora. I have an X5. I keep a Digitech Whammy pedal on my board for just that purpose and the sound quality between the real deal and the Plethora isn't close. I'm selling my Plethora and replacing it with this. The Plethora for other things (delays, reverbs, and the vibrato for example) I think sound pretty good, but that thing takes up so much freaking space on my board that I am giving this Zoom pedal a shot for the space alone. It sounds pretty good to me on the KZbin. So we'll see.
