For low latency hdmi video you’ll need a capture card. Most cameras that do not have a webcam over USB feature will need a capture. It can also be said you will receive better quality via hdmi vs. usb for any video camera! Cheers!

A capture card was my thought also.
@DylanM153 жыл бұрын
Exactly this. Especially since he's using a Mac. HDMI on Macs are only video out for second displays or playing media on another display and don't have video input. So the only option is USB to a capture card then to the camera or possibly USB directly to the Camera if there is a USB webcam software for the camera from the company.

@@CopyWhoTV Following the reasoning above it does. The only reason Jason couldn't get it working, is because he put it in the HDMI Out of the Macbook. Capture cards, the Atem Mini Pro (and also the TV in the video) have HDMI Input :)

@@CopyWhoTV that is correct. I do this very thing with it. However one catch is you must have it in 1080 mode or it will not pass video through a regular ATEM… ATEM pro yes…

Jason, very good review and problem solving to sync the video w audio. You got it down very close to point of no longer being an annoying delay. Good job Jason. Thanks for your determination and finding the fix. I know you were doing it more for your process for you w your students l, but at same time helping us, by your real life experience. Thanks Jason. Good job. I know you didn’t really do it w music, but still Good.

Hi Contrabass. I am wondering with that micro HDMI connector can you use that to connect the zoom q2n 4k to the computer via the hdmi cable then for better audio and video quality or is it strictly for playback on a TV only? Just tried this out last night and watching your videos on the lag etc Whole purpose was to live stream solo performance over zoom or youtube but the quality does not seem great for being an awesome little zoom. Audio isnt great from what I noticed and the lag I could not get it syncing up perfect even with messing around with the delay. Any updates you have found on this? You are the only good review I have found on this subject. Trying to figure this out so I can return it in return window time frame if not. Thanks :)

Thanks Jason. A huge difference between the Canon and the Zoom. I'm looking for something to use for a video podcast, I'll go for the Canon...thanks again.
@doublebasshq4 жыл бұрын
The Canon looks better, right? I know that Sony has some great options that also allow you to record for a long duration. The issue with the M50 is that they limit you to 30 minutes of video, so you have to either start it up again or find some other kind of workaround. I'm sure there are some great options that look good and don't have that issue for a video podcast.

I've just bought a Zoom Q2N-4K video camera. I was wondering if it's possible to connect the small HDMI output on it to the HDMI input on a Windows 10 laptop and use the laptop as a viewfinder (since the screen on the Q2n-4K is tiny), or to play back videos from the Zoom but display them on the computer screen? I've tried connecting the small HDMI out on the Q2N-4K to the HDMI input on my PC, then gone into 'projection setting' in Windows 10, but it doesn't seem to work. The Q2N-4K manual says you can connect the HDMI out to a TV, but doesn't mention anything about connecting to a laptop.

Are the field of view settings for controlling the amount of fisheye, or is it just a fancy name for zooming in/out? Is there a way to turn off or reduce the fisheye effect?

HDMI output is post processing. I've run it into an ATEM and it works fine but I am... unimpressed... by the image. Like most cameras with tiny sensors this one REALLY likes a lot of light. I've never gotten the HDMI signal to match the image you can get by recording then touching it up in post. As a live camera it simply doesn't have enough controls.

First I would like to say thank you for your demos On this camera Q2n and also Q8 . I also have the Q2N I have been finding it to be very noisy or grainy in the video quality wondering if you have that same issue? and if you have any suggestions with that. Also found out that you can record natively too the Q2N and use it as a zoom WebCam only if if you come out of the macro HDMI port and use the “ oiogear video Computer adapter “ and changes it to a USB-c port and also comes with an adapter to become a USB port. Zoom then recognizes it as a camera and you can also record on the Q2n at the some time.

@@doublebasshq Few computers have an HDMI input. The HDMI ports on computers are only output so that is likely why you did not get video into your computer. To capture the video in your computer from this camera you will need to use either USB (which does capture video), a video capture card, or possibly try a software product like Sparkocam.
@joshuahratliff4 жыл бұрын
Your hdmi port on your computer is an OUT not an IN. If you want to send signal IN to the computer, that happens with USB. Also, the delay is for HDMI. All HDMI has a small delay in video signal but audio is sent in real time. As a result, Zoom has given us the ability to delay the audio a little so it will sync up with the video. So the “f” number there stand for frames. You can delay the audio from 1-10 frames, whatever you need to make it appear to be in sync.

The Q2n makes a cute little webcam. Getting the lens hood costs a fortune because you must purchase an accessory kit that is mostly useless except for the lens cap. As a pro photographer, rule #1 is ALWAYS use a lens hood. Seriously. I won't bore you with the why except I was a Pro and you, likely aren't and never will be. Pro's know. Anyhow, it works fine as a Webcam with USB connection and the natural light setting seems good. You can fiddle with the latency on cam. I often use multi-cam lite and it has a latency adjust. Also, the Q2n comes set to 50Hz... at least, mine did. So the Multi-cam lite allows to correct to 60 cycle for Canada... no flicker issues. I really, really, really, really want an HDMI out to record function but, c'est la vie, Logitech still hasn't grasped that there are thousands, like me, wishing for an HDMI webcam. While I use Multi-Cam Lite, I can't recommend it. I'm desperate for cheap solutions to multi-cam recording (I'm quite poor). The Multi-Cam uses Quick-Time... eminently hackable and a bad program to EVER have in one's computer... EVER. Oh well. Also, you should use a plug in USB or Flash Drive to record the video because the Multi-Cam is going to really, really, really, really, really, really tax your processor. Give it every break you can. My HP computer has an SD slot and lots of USB slots so I record the video onto an SD card for editing. I guess this is a review of the Q2n. Cute camera, makes a good USB webcam, and latency can be corrected, mostly, with the on camera delay button. Multi-cam lite comes with a latency tester for each view. I find 180 mili seconds seems pretty close to get my lips and sound to go together. So... If you're looking for an HDMI webcam, then your best choices until Logitech gives us an HDMI 920 is to buy a low end Canon or Panasonic Camcorder... about $300. As for switchers on the cheap, I've chosen the RGBlink. Bye from Butch in Vancouver.
