I just bought it and waiting to get in about two days and record drumming at church. The problem I have with my go pro 9 is I cannot adjust the volume goin in to the cam from mini mixer if I lower it I have to lower my master. But I can see that I can lower it from the camera and wont lower my in ear 💪👋 Thanks.

great video! bt what the people who review the Q8/Q8n/Q8n4?K hasn't done yet is actually test this thing in lowlight..esp filming a live band on a bar scenario. I have read complaints from another related video that this thing, while good on decent lighting, struggles on lowlight. and that particular commenter even went on to add that Zoom doesn't even listen to their users. The Q2 and the Q8 line are all using the same weakass sensor.

I would try some right-angle connectors for XLR inputs. It might make the cables easier to manage, than having them sticking straight out.

This camera’s visuals are average at best. More or less on par with a 4K webcam. But for the price I would say “yes” but taper your expectations. Sound quality is awesome!! 👊🏾🙏🏾

Great videos- very informative- I'm wondering if the wide angle lens has any flexibility? I find the picture distorted with the wide angle-not fond of this at all. Is there any remedy for this situation? the audio quality is of course a big selling point. Not happy with a distorted image.

I’m glad you like our videos Norman! Thanks! You can zoom in and not have the wide angle effect or you can also use your editing software to try and fix this issue but the sides will still not be perfect. 😕

I have several Zoom recorders, even the F8, P4, F2 or H1n, but I really do not understand the idea behind these Zoom video cameras. I know it is for musicians, but why do they always keep putting such sub-par sensors in them? It is basically a Logitech webcam. If the idea is to make better sound AND picture for performing musicians and teachers, they should be using some decent video hardware. I mean - a GoPro Hero 7 Black has better picture (and more settings), and it costs less, any older 1" compact camera would produce much nicer and cheaper video. Any flagship smartphone would outperform the Q8n4K in terms of video quality (and the sound quality and connectivity can be added to the smartphone nowadays quite easily). From all the videos I've seen so far made on Q8n4K, this is nowhere near the expected quality for the year 2022 - I am sorry, as I would love the Q8n4K to be usable in semi- and professional video production. Great review though.

I agree 💯% with you. I feel zoom made this camera for teachers and very small “music making” KZbinrs. Also, Now that it can be used as a legitimate webcam with it’s audio capabilities 🤔 I feel for $400 it’s worth a buy. But if you are a serious video producer this is not the camera for you. 🙏🏾👊🏾

I've been watching a lot of reviews, deciding which camera to get as a KZbin/Instagram musician (Moving beyond the iphone & adapter w usb mixer). The picture looks a LOT better than the Logitech and is more on par w the Avermedia Webcam, which has a lot less noise and better color correction/low light WP balance. I DO notice the blue/pruple/magenta tint in this video, though, I don't know if that's from the lighting or camera settings. Also, the image at 1080p 60fps is leaps and bounds better than the 1080/720 @30fps we see everywhere, even in 2022. I pulled the trigger on this unit after watching this, his 2nd review on the product, as well as many others.

Would it be a good idea to get one of these over getting the Zoom F3 for external audio recording for things like weddings? on the bright side you get a extra unmanned camera to get B-Roll footage from the DJ area while getting audio feed from the sound system plus ambient noise from the mics , the downside will probably be the size & the fact that it look like a camera & can't just be tucked away unnoticeable , then there is no 32-bit so I'll have to worry about the DJ or the person on the mic getting too loud right? how does the audio recording compare to other field recorders?

It’s a zoom so the audio quality is superb. You hit all the right points about the differences between getting one or the other. It really comes down to what gear you can live with or without! Me, I would get them both 😁

What’s up Bubba! In this video I used the zoom Q8 has a stand alone device. I took the sound from my MPC Live Sampler straight into the zoom camera and recorded the sound and video via the ZQ8n4K. ✌🏾😎

Are you at -12 DB because anytime I get close to over that especially with my bass and my hip-hop music it just distorts I’m wondering if that’s normal and I need to keep it there, but I can’t ever get it to sound as loud as yours sounds without distortion are you doing thatrecording instead of straight line sorry I had to ask appreciate any feedback😢

XLR mike inputs are only major difference between Q2n-4k & Q8n-4k. On occasion, have used both cameras from different angles, Q8n out front

This camera is BAD. Dont get me wrong there are a lot of great things about it. But for a lot of yall youre think of getting the product for the fact that it's a CAMERA. Youre not buying it to use it as audio interface or anything else. Zoom has a lot of products that are great standalone field recorders, interfaces etc. This is a camera yet it fails to be a camera. You need lots and i mean lots of light to get if to look good. For many of you youre thinking, great a camera that can capture good quality audio and live stream while i perform at a venue, amazing! WRONG. This is a terrible camera for low light scenarios which most venues are just that. Picture this, you open up a 2011 mac and take picture with the webcam on iphoto. Thats the quality you get if not slightly worse

I’m not sure if it’s iMac bad but you’re right.the camera can’t be why you purchase this product. For less than $400 you get what you pay for. Great audio, subpar on board camera. 👍🏾
